For our next gallery update, we would like to share with you our gallery of Masterpiece Smokescreen! The 19th (individually numbered) release in the Transformers Masterpiece series, Smokescreen is the third in the Masterpiece Datsun trio.
While Prowl and Streak were each moderately remolded from one another, with Smokescreen Takara-Tomy completely remolded the toy – including not only the reworked front end of the vehicle mode like the Generation 1 original, but new launchers and differently designed shoulders. This is all in aid of giving Smokescreen a cartoon accurate look, and it gives the toy its own identity when compared to the other two Datsun Masterpieces.
The deco on this release is simply gorgeous. Smokescreen’s rally car deco is faithfully recreated, albeit with new sponsor details (including a reference to Devcon, who made an appearance in “The Gambler”, Smokescreen’s season 2 spotlight episode). The end result is extremely sharp, and very pleasing if like me you’re a fan of Smokescreen.
Poseability is the same as the other Datsun Masterpieces and is top-notch. You can get a lot of great poses out of Smokescreen, and the different accessories supplements the display options. He’s a first-class release in the Masterpiece series, and a must buy for fans of the character, or those wanting to pick up a high-end, collector-oriented release.

Don’t bring up old news threads. Mods don’t like it. Per their rules, just a heads up.

TFW delivers… this is the scale pic I was looking for.

Living in the future sure is rad!

Tease! Mine is coming tomorrow with Prowl and Streak.

It still surprises me that despite my general lifelong VERY "meh" feeling about Smokescreen as a character, this MP ended up being my favorite of the Datsun trio. The colors… the insane cartoon accuracy in all its chunky & blocky glory… it's just incredible how well they nailed it.
Smokescreen
Fantastic gallery! Smokey's never looked so good. Really top notch job!
Acteon
Great gallery – finally decided to ship mine from HLJ so looking forward to getting him (less so the inevitable customs charge which will make this my last HLJ order!).
The image of all the Smokescreens makes you realise just how inferior (but nice) these homage decos are. You can't beat the real thing, and these MP's have been amazing lately

Truly a masterpiece! Nice photography!

Awesome photos as ever! Yes, this figure is simply amazing. This figure is a dream come true. All the Datsuns and MPs are dreams come true, but this trio for me is special because I never had them as a kid.
As much as I love the deco on the figure as is, I can't wait to see what Reprolabels has in store for it! Really hoping to see a nice big Datsun label for the front fender!

Yup I finally opened mine expecting to be disappointed with the head but it looks outstanding. I honestly have no idea which Datsun is best but he wins hands down on paint apps color scheme. You should open him.

Beautiful. I wish they would have changed the wheels and filled in the t-top lines, but still stunningly beautiful.
Vanilla2
Still haven't transformed mine, but these pics have eased my concerns over his head.
