For our next advance look at one of the upcoming Transformers Generations Deluxe class figures, we bring you Skywarp! This latest Skywarp is the much-awaited Fall of Cybertron Starscream redeco to round out the set of War for Cybertron / Fall of Cybertron Seekers.
By now if you have had the pleasure of owning the one of the four previous outings for this toy, you’ll know what to expect. Skywarp’s mold is a futuristic jet that turns into a robot with big, solid legs that help the robot to balance really well, and he’s got enough poseability in the arms and the legs to strike a good range of poses. He’s a good solid toy, and the deco is what really makes this release. This Generations Skywarp sports a full sleek black and purple deco, iconic Skywarp colors, and they fit the mold like a glove. Takara-Tomy’s own Skywarp looked good, and still does, but this version is the more readily identifiable as Skywarp.
Overall it’s a sharp deco on a nice fun toy, a must for Skywarp fans or fans wanting a set of Cybertronian Seekers based on High Moon Studios’ videogames. Check out the gallery to see the awesome deco for yourself:

This is the first Skywarp released at mass retail since TFA. Hasbro freaking nailed him!

color me crazy, but I still like the Takara version better
both have flaws.
i guess for me it comes down to lesser of two evils, I can live with the charcoal gray in lieu of black on the takara version moreso than I can swallow down the overuse of obnoxious shade of purple (especially the arm cannons) and matte grey on the body on the Hasbro release

I am so looking forward to this guy. I've never wanted a repaint so badly.
When is he due out?
Pravus Prime
Not really, no.
For the either War For Cybertron game, Hasbro is leagues ahead. There are several differences between the game model and the Hasbro figure though.
On the DS game, the lead toes (should be purple), the upper arms (should be black, with purple "wings"), the wing stripe (purple), symbols on the tail wings, and the "shoulders" in robot mode – the black swivel panels on the shoulders should be purple for robot mode, but are black for jet mode, so one way or the other it would've been inaccurate in one mode.
On the other platforms, the toe, wing, symbol, and robot mode shoulder problems carry over, but the upper arms should be purple. The stripe is interesting, as the wings are right for jet mode, but the robot mode doesn't have the silver stripe and instead has the purple one, so once again it would've been wrong in one mode or the other.
Really the only things Takara did right was the purple shoulders in robot mode (which become wrong for Jet mode) and the purple lead toes. Pretty much the rest of the figure is in the wrong colors. It's probably safe to assume that Takara was going off the render art, which thanks to the dynamic lighting and perhaps some unfinished deco work washed out the limb colors and made the wings in robot mode purple. Given how painstakingly accurate their FOC Starscream is, it's the best explanation of why Skywarp is so far removed from the source material.
So, it's more that Takara is concept art/render Skywarp and Hasbro is finished in-game version Skywarp (on a budget) with a perfect jet mode.
Back on topic, great gallery, love the super combined weapon. My POL from BBTS should be shipping soon since Skywarp dropped into it and I'm very much looking forward to opening it. I've got a few ideas for weapon swaps waiting for him, to see which fits best for him. None of my WFC/FOC Seekers are using their included (Neutron Assault) guns, they've all got other loadouts and Skywarp won't be any different.

I have both Takara and Hasbro and I definitely prefer the Hasbro one. While the Takara is probably more game accurate, this one gives off a much more "Skywarp-y" vibe.
As it happens, they both found a place on my shelves; my FOC collection has Takara Skywarp and Starscream and Hasbro Thundercracker, while on my classics shelf the three Seekers are represented with each a different mold: Generations Armada S-Scream, Generations Skywarp and (First) Generations Thundercracker.
Mixmaster
Cool photos; probably needs less grey and more black for me.

At least this on has Black. The only Black on the Takara one is on his head.
Chaos Prime
I'm still going to buy the figure, but it needs more black, and less purple.

Colors look way better than the Takara version IMO. Definitely picking this one up!

Skywarp will shortly be mine. Although the colors aren't exactly game-accurate, they look absolutely great! All three of the Hasbro WFC/FOC seekers look wonderful together.
jestermon
Love the colors, but I still can't see this mold as a seeker.

I was fine with my Takara TFP Deluxe Skywarp… but they went and did this… Now I want him… BAAAD.
sh002
Nice. Can't wait to own this.
Prime Wylde
Been waiting for him for a while. Excited to have the entire decepticon core team in scale and in same aesthetic.
Omegax80
One of those times Hasbro got it better than Takara. A rarity. Must buy.
This should be captioned with FALCON PUNCH!!!!
LegendAntihero
Skywarp has the best paint of all the FOC seekers.
Novaburnhilde
He looks great!
Nightrain
Hasbro definitely outdid Takara in coloring on this one.
bobbyjack
Looks great. Wish I didn't get the Takara version, but at least I can use him as a generic background seeker. Been playing with these guys a lot more now that the joints are really loose on some of our classic seekers.
slugslinger2004
Looks great. That reminds me I need to pick up Thundercracker
