Director Michael Bay has logged into his Official Website to make a statement regarding what is being circulated around the Internet. In case you missed it, you can check out our report posted few hours ago.
“I Do Not Apologize For Any Transformers Movies” says Mr. Bay. “It is a drag talking to reporters on sets. Why? Because often times they take your words and skew things to their liking? Then the crazy, lazy game of reporting on what other writers story’s reported me saying and then suddenly it becomes skewed Internet truth. So I waste my time to restate exactly what I did say, again.
No I did not ‘apologize’ for any Transformers movies. I did not say I shot the last three movies “less cool” then the new fourth installment. I was talking specifically about camera style and tone, of the first movie compared to how I shot the new installment with a very big scale, cinematic style. I was very specific in saying the first Transformers was shot in a ‘generic suburbia’ area, not trying to be cool with any cinematic flashes. I wanted it to feel like this could happen in any backyard in the United States.”
Continuing on, the Director did not forget to mention about Transformers: Age Of Extinction. This includes some information about when we’ll exactly see the First Transformers 4 Trailer.
“So that brings me to letting Transformers fans know that we have completed our five and half month shoot. We got back from a month long shoot in China. My crew and I had a fantastic time shooting in Hong Kong and Mainland China. It was an amazing experience, and I love the country. My cast was absolutely fantastic, and a very fun group to work with. We are working hard cutting the movie right now. I think the first piece comes out for the Super Bowl and a teaser right after that. And yes, I’m very excited about this new movie.”
Super Bowl XLVIII will take place on February 2, 2014.

I take it you haven't been to Universal Studios and gotten on The Transformers ride then? If you did, you would feel, much in the same way that the franchise is more than "just some toy commercial", that its more than merely a theme park ride. Its an experience.
Outside of the attraction there's periodically suit performers dressed as Prime, Bee and Megs to take pictures with. There's a gift shop with all sorts of good stuff, from G1 to Bayformers. Hell theres even an Energon juice bar.
While you wait in line, Autobots and N.E.ST. are briefing you. There's cool Sector 7 paraphernalia everywhere. The whole atmosphere gets you jazzed up before you even ride the thing. Then the thing itself is just amazing. If you don't want to immediately ride it again you're kidding yourself.
And FYI, its not cool to make light of special needs people, even as an insult against a normal person.

They didn't go to LA, they went to "Mission City", so just imagine that it was close enough by the Hoover Dam to drive there really fast.
Yeah it was just LA given a different name but its all fantasy anyway. Just roll with it, you geo nerd.

Would have been happier if he did apologize for the first two films. DOTM was more bearable but it still sucked also.

It was a quote, from someone with presumably better reading comprehension skills than we are dealing with here.
If Transformers is nothing more than a "commercial" to you then I actually do pity you. Truly. But I get that Bay can't "ruin something wonderful" for you because clearly for you there was nothing to ruin. Quite why you hang around a forum like this if that's your angle and there are clearly more worthwhile pastimes out there………perhaps you just like a good shit-stir.
You might have to get a limited intellect around the fact that even around here, some of us have a little more investment in the subject than " they're just toys……grow up" and a wafer thin attachment to a commercial.
But nice try on the grown up thing. Good luck at the theme park, they put the special people up front these days.

It's Transformers not the Shawshank Redemption or Argo. "Shitty" has always been synonymous with Transformers even before Bay showed up. Oh, and way to avoid talking about the shitty quality of the G1 movie. Oh wait, you avoided it because you know it was shit and want to pretend like Michael Bay has ruined something wonderful.
And what's wrong with mentioning a theme park? You know Transformers, ALL OF TRANSFORMERS, is nothing but a glorified toy commercial, right?
Yes, that would be ideal, it's not hard, a lot of people here have already managed it, why don't you give it a try?
Batman
One positive thing I can say about Michael Bay, is that he makes really great movie trailers. I enjoyed the trailers for all 3 of the previous movies more than the actual movies themselves. Looking forward to this trailer even though I know AOE will be more of the same.

Grow up as in stop watching fucking awful movies…….? Grow up as in stop being an over-sensitive whiney man child on a forum talking about toys……yeah right.
For fuck's sake a theme park ride was part of your justifying sentence.
Think about it. If you can……….

He didn't bash McBay, he simply made his argument and moved on. And if he was so respected he'd be able to get better actors and projects. Somebody's really sensitive! Or maybe the media posted that for you and twisted your words.

Shit, I was thanking him in 2006 when I was buying TF's on their 22nd anniversary. Thought for sure they would never see 23.
Prime Jetscream
Dammit, that 2007 poster behind that monitor got my hopes up until I realized it was a 2007 poster.

No more terrible then the horrible G1 movie. Nostalgia and fanboy bias aside, it's a terrible movie.
And Lody666 is right. Thanks to Michael Bay you have new toys, cartoons, comics, video games and even a theme park ride. and all you haters want to do is shout "robot Balls!" at the top of your lungs. Grow up.

LastOfThePrimes
How disrespectful is this comment? If you don't like Bay cool, but this man is a well respected director in Hollywood. To bash him and call him lazy is stupid and absolutely blasphemous.
Lody666
"You revitalized the brand for years to come."
You can thank him when you are buying your Transformer toys 5-10 years from now

And made four terrible films.
We'll done.
Stick what where now?
Lody666
Tell the reporters and critics to stick it.
You revitalized the brand for years to come.

First teaser with the Superbowl? Ok…
Great to hear from the big guy again, though.
figsdad
Spider Man 2 and Godzilla and X-Men Days of Future Past all come out in may and already have trailers.
Agree so if they want to make Money and beat these films to make a blockbuster. get the teaser out now and get it promoted to the world.?
