Yahoo Movies UK has officially revealed the first Transformers 4 Poster! In it we see an an altered Decepticon logo next to the 4, layered on top of sand with subtle hints of claw marks and a footprint (if you really want to over analyze things that is). Last but not least, the title “Age of Extinction” is used. To our U.S. friends, please note that 10.7.14 is the European date method, which translates to 7/10/14 for us in the States.
Update – US Poster revealed as well via Yahoo Movies US, date is confirmed to be 6/27/14.

Why is this the thread where everyone's at each other's throats? It's just a title. And a pretty good one at that.
EDIT: I'd like to point out that Bay fans struck first, and I regret my involvement.

Well, I liked the first and third one. I will see the fourth one, probably in 3D, with hopes that it will meet that bar. I HATED ROTF, and the only reason I saw DOTM was because my base got and played it for free, and I was pleasantly surprised.
So, I like the majority of Bayformers. But ROTF is like a "worst of" playlist, and those flaws are in the others, too. I just genuinely dislike Michael Bay's directorial "style", the designs, and appreciate it when art gives me something to think about. Or to remember.

More like "Transformers: Age of Ex-STINK-tion"…

I guess you can't underestimate the power of hope. I remember thinking "Maybe, this time, they'll get it right." – and then that toilet scene in DOTM came up…..
People went to watch Transformers – unfortunately they had to put up with the rest of Bay's 'trademarks'. This time, they'll be going to see the Dinobots – and hoping maybe it'll be better than last time.
TF fans, kind of like lemmings, aren't they?
I am hoping that the folks making TF 4 learned a few things from Avengers. There is a thing such as intelligent humour..

So much hate, its glorious. I say we wait till we get the teaser.

Just take the opinions down to a nice friendly discussion please. Bay hate comments get annoying on here

No I joined because I love TF I just don't like Bay or the movies. I actually found that funny of course I always find myself hilarious. Look at what Whedon did with Avengers you can make older characters work if you are a competent filmmaker. I refuse to believe TF are so fucked that they need a Bay level re-working.
Pharoid
Well I can agree that it is a cool poster. I actually could debate films with you I am not nearly as far down the list as you think. Let's not reduce disagreements about films to personal attacks. Sorry to jump down your throat "fail" just irritates me…

To all of you fighting. Did you know that the real Cybertronian civil war was started on their internet! It was a web site about a popular franchise that many Cybertronians loved and adored. For a time they lived in harmony, but like all fan boys, some wanted G1, others completely new. The movies tore them apart, creating two fractions. Then came the war, between the Autobots who thought the movies were okay but needed some work and the Deceptions who down right hated the fuck out of the movies.

Sure, there's certainly a ton of well-thought out hate for the films on the internet on message boards and so forth. But apparently that so called "Critical thinking" and well-thought out hate isn't strong enough to stop them from continually seeing each progressive entry, be it theatrically, blu-ray, on demand, television or any other way legally. The haters are just as much of a percentage of the film making money as the rest of the audience does.
However, I do get your points. Still, I'm in the group that likes the films. I absolutely adore the 2007 film and watch it every chance I get when it airs on television. I admit, there are problems with each of the films, but those problems are not yet big enough to stop me from liking the films.
Galvatron II
Also, I like the title. From what we've seen, and given the last one, I think this one has a lot of potential.
I'd like to reiterate: I LIKE '07 AND DOTM. I just despise the overall direction, and I think where they went with it is a huge waste of a license with some of the best film potential of all time.
But given the supposed change in aesthetic, tone, and overall direction, I'm (cautiously) hopeful.
Also, I'm digging the Dinobots teasing they're doing us. This is some real fan-centric marketing, and I think that can mean only good things for the product.
So color me optimistic.
Galvatron II
Yes, but are they using their critical thinking skills? I'm serious, the informed, well thought out hate for these is WAY higher than the informed, well thought out love. Majority opinion =/= correct.
Ephland
I'd be willing to bet a decent amount of money that you're far down the list of people to talk to about "revolutionary filmmaking".
Anyways, back on topic…
Poster is cool. It's actually a nice visual concept, compared to the other posters.

ENOUGH with all the hate and bringing up the reviews of the previous films. Critics are barely a percentage of the world's population
Revenge of the Fallen had terrible reviews and according to the internet is hated by everyone. Yet people still went in droves to see Dark of the Moon and it made a billion globally. So, the so called hate for these films seems to be rather minor if not downright insignificant. Each film has been more successful than the last so at this point it's safe to say that there is more people enjoy the films than those that hate them.
