Another new cast member has been added to Transformers 4, this time being the stand-up comedian T.J. Miller who will play Mark Wahlberg’s character’s best friend who is a mechanic.
T.J. Miller joins the previously mentioned Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz (The Last Airbender) , Jack Reynor, Stanley Tucci (The Hunger Games), Kelsey Grammer and Sophia Miles (Underworld) on the human cast.

Josh

Yep, because they should unveil ALL their robots and spoil it for everybody!
Composite Ghost
He's not as funny as the guys I play Magic the Gathering with.

If you guys do a little bit of research you'd know TJ Miller is one of the funniest stand ups in recent years, and he's one of the funniest people I've ever seen and had the privilege of meeting. He's starring in a new HBO Mike Judge comedy called Silicon Valley, that just got picked up to series as well as in a new feature produced by the Hangover producer. He's done animation voicework and he's really about to explode as a hillarous household name. This is good news for the movie. He's better than the movie will ever be.

LMAO nailed it.

I remember him being pretty funny in "She's Out of My League," I just don't want to have more and more human characters added at the expense of robot dialogue. I'd much rather them finally get a solid feel for the characters they've already had on screen for years than to worry about new humans who probably aren't all that different from the previous ones involved. I guess hoping for that was a shot in the dark, but as fans, hope is sometimes all we can have.

I'd say if you are over 30 you think he sucks, if you are under 30 he's ok to pretty funny.
Somehow us older folks had a different sense of humor when we were young. A total bullshit claim I might add just used to perpetuate the holier than thou attitude many of the older fans carry around and beat horses to death with any chance they get. I'm 41 and have proudly avoided evolving into a humorless douchebag.

I suppose there had to be a human comedy sidekick chum in there somewhere. Miles and Glenn in the first BayFormers, Leo in RotF and – I dunno – most of the supporting human cast in DotM. Hopefully his role will be very small and not too overly painful to experience.

It depends on how they use him. If you watch a little movie called "She's Out Of My League" he plays a character who is always on. Just a fast talking smart ass. He's funny, but it is all a matter of whether he fits the film.
And as someone mentioned, he even played it straight in Cloverfield.
But seeing how Bay used Shia in the first 3 films I'm sure he felt the need to have a smart ass character to fill the role.

This is good news as far as I'm concerned. Dude cracked me up in "She's Out of My League".

Ha, I recognize this dude from Carpoolers. That was a funny show. He wasn't.
alfred p. sloan
This is some good news. I know TJ is funny.
PrimulArchangel
This guy is just a burn out lol
He is the guy that pulled his pants and boxers down on live TV and raped a Christmas tree on G4's Attack of the Show. He seems like one of those guys you knew in school and you run into him years later and see just how much his brain is burnt from smoking too much shit lol

TJ Miller is fine. I'm going to guess that his comedian persona, won't be what is brought to the table here (who knows with Bay though). I have no problem with him being cast.
Ephland
you just joined the boards, so you missed all the news for the last 3 movies. welcome!
Miller can be a funny guy. He's got kind of a bombastic personality but he was very funny in She's Out of My League. His standup is pretty good too. I've seen him on a few other Comedy Central shows (The Burn, Jeselnik Offensive) and when he's on point, he's great.
