A trio of Transformers 4 extras casting calls have gone out via Beth Sepko Casting & Third Coast Extras on Facebook.
The initial call that went out was for “Submissions from Extras with very strong unique “character” faces that express a larger than lifeTEXAS type personality. Think people that look like Ranchers, oil men and women, realtor types that sell Dallas mansions, small town salt of the earth types, and strong southern-looking men & women- with faces that have a real local Texas flavor to their look and uniqueness!”
A second call followed today for some more specific casting, as follows: ““Mom”- Female Caucasian or Hispanic: Age 30s-50s (must have plus sized figure, expressive comedic face, small town Texas look ); “Dad”- Male Caucasian or Hispanic: Age 30s-50s (must have plus sized figure, expressive comedic face, small town Texas look)”
There was also a casting call for Hollywood staple attractive women: “FEMALE CAUCASIAN EXTRAS between the ages of 16-23 fit, tan, attractive with an “all-american” Texas type”

I'm starting to think Hasbro told Bay to go Texan for the sake of their ponies. Would be nice if they featured Ponies in TF, maybe even bring back the tooth fairy girl or something…

Don't forget about Braeburn, Hot Shot.

That would be the Bay Casting Couch.

Ok anyone else want to audition for oil rig guy wearing dark blue jeans, kahki shirt, and a yellow hard hat?
RedAlert Rescue
Young females wanted in Texas…
Er Ok that's nice to know.
Hot Shot.
You're welcome.
He probably wants a dried-up, wrinkly old fart that looks like our current and past governors.

All-American Boy
"This species has seldom been seen and naturalists have considered putting it on the endangered species list. He is marked by his love of baseball, by having a skill with rural machinery and hunting firearms beyond his years, and his propensity to emit sounds like "gee whiz". The All-American boy usually dwells in a Quirky Town within which he is as free as the air, pedaling everywhere on his bicycle. He is naive but charming and always polite, and he treats his elders (who most likely include a Standard '50s Father and a House Wife) with respect. If he has a sibling, it will be an older brother to idolize or a little sister to protect — perhaps both.
There are variants of this trope. The geeky variant is similarly characterized by ingenuity, self-reliance, and wholesomeness, but he applies his interest to at-home science experiments and the like. The high-school variety wears a letterman's sweater, plays football or baseball, and spends his off hours using his mechanical skills to restore an old car."
And maybe they are casting ranchers and oil workers because its the primary demographic of a specific small town in Texas? A small town of a few thousand, not a large city like Dallas or Houston

I guess Bay took a break on the 3rd film since the 2nd one had enough stereotypes for 2 films.
Who knows, maybe he caught enough hell for the toothless Arab guy in ROTF that he's trying to make up for it with some toothless hicks down here in the dang ole Lone Star State.
Giddyup and yeehaw, ya dang yankees.

So…. after all that… where do I sign up?

"Fit and attractive"
"Texan look"
I see Mr. Bay has not been to Texas.
Aeronnz
Really funny. What exactly does it mean by "all-american?"
Sso02V
It's funny to me because if Michael Bay was removed from the equation, and some folks here were told to imagine a Texan, it'd be all "Ranchers and cowboys and oil workers, right?"
Autovolt 127
I wonder if they'll make any King of the Hill references. Yup.
An Oil Rig Transformer would be cool.

I actually think you people would be more happy if the casting call said "We need 400lb, unattractive women. Jeez, it's just a casting call, calm down.
samtastic
Very shocking to know Mr. Bay will be exploiting women again!

How do you get a Texas type face? Do you smear crude oil and cow patties on it and bake it in the sun for 10 hours? I don't really get it. All the Texans I've seen look like anyone else.

I have officially lost hope. It's like every movie has to be like an unfunny episode of Benny Hill with Transformers in the background.
Fixed. I'd like to agree with you about the fact that we're whining about this, and granted, this is probably an everyday occurrence in HollyWeird, but unfortunately we have three prior hackneyed movies to go upon to see what the script writers and director Michael Bay thinks is entertaining to the masses. It's not the first time. And yes, I will go see it, but I can't help but feel that there's a lot of stereotyping that occurs with these big budget productions from the same team. I get it, when you have a formula that looks like National Lampoon, you can attach the name to everything as long as it has some T&A. This is what the franchise movies however are turning into, and it's kind of grating that something we all enjoy that has a completely different meaning is boiled down to 'Run Fatboy Run' (with apologies to Simon Pegg).

I'm not surprise they are calling for young attractive women to sign up for cast. But they should ask those oil rig guys from the series "Black Gold" from TruTV to be in the movie.
Macross7
Its like Bay can't cast a single person in a movie without fanboys searching to find some sort of racism or sterotype in everything.
Spin-Out
Okay, that needs to be movieverse Oil Slick.
