Some sleuthing from Snakas has uncovered a fresh image of the E-Hobby Mebion / Magnificus that was teased yesterday. As speculated, the image confirms that what was being teased was a black, Decepticon version of Reveal the Shield Perceptor (complete with alternate, toy accurate head sculpt). According to Snakas, E-Hobby is due to start preorders on this item on March 26, with the preorder period closing at 12:00PM, May 8th. The release is priced at 5,500 yen.
Snakas urges just a little caution in his report though – the image of Mebion shown here was uncovered through manipulating the URL of yesterday’s teaser image – so much like the Botcon 2010 Clench as Octane redeco, it could be a red herring. However we feel that the overwhelming balance of the evidence so far points to this being the genuine article.

So called it with Double Pretender Gorilla!

eHOBBY's order contains what Fun Pub is getting. eHOBBY has a set amount they've set aside for Fun Pub.

Maybe Fun Pub know there maybe more collectors whom want it after the official eHOBBY pre order close,i guess.
Fast_Draw
So this is definitely coming out in September? I wonder why BBTS hasn't updated their listing with the release date of May.
Primal Sabbath
Then I'm still not understanding why they don't get Hasbro involved whenever the factory wants to undermine their order.
G.B. Blackrock
I don't think FunPub has a say in which factory they use. They use whichever one Hasbro/Takara uses, that has the mold they need available.
Primal Sabbath
There's no telling what happens behind closed doors… Maybe FunPub did something to piss off whoever is in charge over at the factory?
But if the problems are truly with the factory, then why not change factories?
Still doesn't make too much sense to me.
G.B. Blackrock
Well, it's not really Takara, so much as the factories. We're constantly told that the factories don't like doing the small runs that FunPub does, and that's why they're always getting pushed back on the schedule in favor of larger runs.
The question is, why does FunPub constantly suffer in this way, when eHobby seems ("seems" is an important word here, though) to do just fine?
PoweredConvoy
Same production run. Fun Pub orders so many in advance from eHOBBY.

I don't follow. Why would Takara have beef with FunPub?
Thundershot
Oops. I was going by BBTS's information… It still says May.
They probably ordered so many for themselves.
That's probably what happened. Which is why I think it's odd that Takara hates it when the club wants to make things for Botcon for the subscription.
BraveMax
It's out in September, as the person below you says.
Their items have always been limited, true. This type of "made to order" thing is standard practice in Japan, though, so they may have handled all their exclusives like this. Hard to know.
We don't know how that relationship works. It may be that Fup just requested a certain fixed number for their run.
Omegax80
It's another collab with FunPub, yet FunPub still has pre-orders open. Wonder if there will be two different production runs.
Stepper
Usually for Ehobby stuff, they will produce limited quantity,so nowadays they made-to-order,that is interesting.
PoweredConvoy
September is the release date IIRC.
Thundershot
No way it's made to order if they're coming out this month.
BraveMax
It's made-to-order; they just closed the pre-order window. That doesn't necessarily say anything about how well it sold… But eHobby has said that they sold pretty well.
Of course, how reliable that is is also up for debate…
Stepper
Wow,it has been sold out,is this piece really that hot.
BraveMax
There's a small color preview of the pack-in comic up on Magnificus' order page:
e-HOBBY
(And pre-orders are closed for Magnificus)
SeiberBirdR
The coloration of this mold is very appealing, so I have this preordered.
I really do want to support the Collector's Club, but I was uninterested in Depthcharge so I have not paid the fee for this year. Between that and already having a PoL going at BBTS the easy answer for me is to go with BBTS.
