Generation One variant collectors take notice! In a bit of . . . interesting news to say the least, the Commemorative Series Optimus Prime is seeing a re-release. While this in itself isn’t odd news in light of some of the other re-releases we’ve been seeing, the nature of this one is a bit more interesting. From our Cybertron.CA forums, member Bruticus (G1_Bruticus here) reports that this reissue is in the Commemorative packaging . . . but it’s the 25th anniversary Optimus Prime figure! The notable differences of the figures are the shades of reds, blues, and grays used for the toy parts. The Autobot symbols appear to be tampo-stamped onto the figure as well (whereas the Commemorative issue has a label sheet).

Uh you might want to host your pictures online first before you try to post them

The Hasbro 2012 G1 Optimus Prime has the the same trailer as the Hasbro 25th Anniversary Optimus Prime reissue but the blue stabilisers are royal blue along with the battle stations in his trailer.
G1 Optimus Prime's robot form is based on the Transformers Chronicle CH-01 G1 and Movie Optimus Prime version released by TakaraTOMY in Japan during July 2011 though the trailer connector on his heals have a hole incase the Trasnformers Movie trilogy series trailer can be attached to it.
Plus it also has a bloated gun too along with the Takara Transformers 01 Optimus Prime reissue stickers too.

Makes me wonder if they ever thought about making longer stacks out of foam instead of using plastic and making them stubby. Might not look 100% right but at least the stacks would be long again.

Gah stubby smoke staks again

Hmmmmmm….I like the box.

Screw that, I bought my one and only re-issue Prime back in Dec 2007 when Takara started the Encore line….I paid $60 for him then, and he's still MIB now. I will never buy a Hasbro Optimus Prime or Magnus re-issue, I want long stacks and short G1 correct firing missiles….
I easily passed on the 25th Prime, especially at the same price I paid for a real Takara Prime, no matter what came with the new one, and this one, really easy to leave behind, that gray trailer looks horrible.

That I would be all over, as long as Takara does it so it does not have neutered Stacks and super long trailer missiles.

I bought my pink reissue Prime from Kmart when it was $20. Goes nice with orange MP Prime. I wish the colors had been wilder. Like others said, anybody who genuinely wanted a red Prime had 25+ years to get one. Give us some crazy colors.

I like the idea of them doing a G2 reissue….mix it up a bit.

Awesome! I've given you a news credit with your post here as well as updated the new story.
I guess it just flew under the radar here.

HAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHA!!!
So this is what they did with all those hideous shelf-warming 25th Anniversary Primes when they took them off the shelves.
Poor completionists.
Such a horrible Optimus Prime reissue being marketed as the Commemorative version.
Seems like Hasbro is being dishonest now, like some of the ebay peoples out there.
Hasbro, you sly dogs you.

I guess I am glad that more people can get their hands on this, but I still don't see how it is "interesting" no matter what version of G1 Optimus Prime this is or the packaging

Another reissue? Waste of plastic!

To make me buy that middle of the road mould again They'd need to pep it up a lot such as Include an Action Master Black Optimus, more tampographs, The device label head and optional open finger hands. Other than that I suppose it's OK if you don't own an Optimus – though there's certainly plenty of choice already. (Nearly 30 years of choice in fact).

A friend of mine picked up a restock(reissue) Commerative one from BBTS and he said the quality was not good at all. I wouldn't mind one in more G2 shading if the quality was good but I hate that bright cream colored trailer.
