Robot Kingdom has just updated their Facebook page with our first in hand images of Fall of Cybertron Grimlock. These pictures show us both robot and dino mode as well as the light-up gimmick in both modes. How Grimlock’s sword and shield attach in robot mode is also shown, as well as a size comparison with Generations FOC Optimus Prime. Grimlock towers over the deluxe figure.
We’ve mirrored the images here on TFW, click the title bar to check them out!

Finally saw Grimlock in a store last night and picked him up. Nice size, easy transformation, looks good in both modes to me. My wife thinks he's cool. The legs could have better articulation in dino mode, but that is my only complaint, and it is not a deal breaker by any means. I might pick up another one.
FoC Grimlock
This is my first post on the site. I saw Fall of Cybertron Grimlock in a store while I was in Hong Kong and for some reason he hit all the right notes with me. Thanks to this site's in hands review I decided to join and post about him.
The robot mode is what sells the character. Even with slightly thin hips and legs, you still get the impression of a powerful figure. He's bulky up top giving the impression of a gladiator and he has a thin waist that accentuates his chest and shoulders. Overall, you'll like him for this form. He reminds me a bit of Gaiking due to the coloring and the chest proportions.
The T-Rex mode is inexcusable. That gap in the chest kills the entire effect. His tiny arms come off ridiculously easily. The face sculpt on the T-Rex is fantastic though. If you display him in this mode you will want to angle it so that chest is not visible.
Back to the robot mode. A feature I didn't see mentioned: If you put light above and behind him, it shines through his robot mode head and his eyes glow. I woke up this morning to the sun coming through the windows and Grimlock's eyes glowing from across the room. It's a good effect. The chest will catch a little light as well so he's excellent for display.
The built in LED effect is great. It's a strong light and if you have him out messing around with him, you'll turn it on pretty often. I think this effect would have been better with a simple on/off switch so you could just turn on the rage and leave it on.
Paintjob. There's very little actual paint on this figure. The coloring is all drab due to it being colored plastic. When there is paint they just matched directly to the gold or gray colored plastic and cut the paint time in half. The box pictures show a shiny and polished looking bot but the actuality is dull gold plastic and dull gray. I think the drab coloring fits the commando nature of the character. He's extremely posable and stands well so you can put him in a position to cover any perceived flaws while in robot mode. He's designed to come apart under force so you can actually paint him up very nicely if you are so inclined.
Overall impression: The robot mode makes up for the T-Rex mode. He's made to look like a brawler and when you hold him in hand he fits that role well. His weapons are menacing and they've captured the spirit on the game. He's big so he will look good on display looming over other bots. Sorry about the T-Rex chest cavity. It's a prominent flaw.

Finally a 2012/2013 toy bigger than something from 2006.

Thanks so much Paxtin, that comparison shot was exactly what I needed. Good to know he's taller than Optimus!
Paxtin
Given what I've seen in vid reviews, I'd say he's probably roughly around that size in robot-mode.
EDIT:
Here's a pic, by Feralstorm, from the freedback thread.

I'm currently using a custom oversized KO Classics Grimlock in my classics collection, do you guys think that the FOC Grimmy will be about the same size or taller? I'll probably get the figure anyway since I love the light up gimmick and it's sure to be more durable than a cheap knock off.
Noideaforaname
Y'know what's really crazy, they released a Legends Megatron that turned into a fucking gun right around the same time as Wreck-Gar.
Paxtin
Yeah, I know he had guns. But most people remember his odd pinwheel axe. Which is why the Gen fig had it.
SPLIT LIP
Isn't the whole Powerizer gimmick, well, to have big guns?
Noideaforaname
^ Doesn't change the fact that "Hasbro seems to be reluctant to issue guns with modern TFs" is an utterly ridiculous and blatantly false statement.
Seeker
Here we are.
Paxtin
Indeed…
Autovolt 127
Grimlock so does not need a gun.
PlanckEpoch
…then why does pretty much every modern TF that has come out in the past few years have guns…?
Anguirus
Yeah, it's an important element in the game that Grimlock has to melee instead of use the usual "Teletraan" guns. Personally, I'd have been incensed if they dropped the shield just to give him a gun because G1 Grimlock had one. That shield and sword combo looks AWESOME and you just don't see many shields in the toyline.

This is FOC Grimlock, so adding a gun would seem inappropriate. Even if they're small, Habro gave him pretty much all he needs. Unless people just wanted them to add the gun as a special reference.
Seeker
Hasbro seems to be reluctant to issue guns with modern TFs. They only gave Gens Wreck-Gar a axe.

I want this Grimmy at least in dino mode there doesn't seem to be a face to stare at me from the 'void'.
