Our sponsors Big Bad Toy Store have shared more new images of the upcoming Transformers Prime Beast Hunters toys. Seen here for the very first time are official images of the Voyager Class Beast Optimus Prime and Cyberverse Commander Beast Hunters Optimus Prime. There are also new images of Cyberverse Commander Predaking, complete with robot mode pictures.
The Voyager Class Optimus Prime, notably, sports a much more armored look and has reverted to the Generation 1 flat-nosed truck look. He features at least one missile firing weapon, along with a clear green bladed sword which might be meant to represent the Star Saber. The Cyberverse Commander is a downsized version of this, still with a sword and a missile launcher. Predaking also features a missile launcher, which becomes his tail in beast mode.

They think its too simple and lacking detail, I guess.
I don't really see anything wrong with him other then he is not movie inspired which really is not a bad thing. Never liked the super skinny Optimus

Fisher Price isn't bad stuff it's a great for kids. I never understood why they use this as an insult.
Rob
What qualifies it as a fisher price figure?
I'll admit the paint apps need work but the mold looks detailed, with a nice bulky FOC/WFC look to it.
I am surprised no one is saying "Another attempt at Hasbro trying to force WFC/FOC/Exodus into the Prime Universe, they have some nerve!" or something like that.
who here hopes for the weaponizer class Optimus Prime to be a voyager bot mode with a nice Trailer? :::raises hand:::

If you've had a chance to check out the latest Generations stuff you'll see a notable improvement in quality. Not quite to the level of what we had pre-dotm, but quite a bit over what we've seen the last 2 years. Check out the new Voyager Soundwave or Deluxe Starscream for examples of this quality jump.

I honestly don't see where the fisher price insult would fit into this figure.
SPLIT LIP
You must not realise that we were being sarcastic.
Armada was the reason people are so sick of the "Fisher Price" insult. That's why we werre all "wow so original."
Because you see, it wasn't.
Because of Armada.
RedAlert Rescue
People still like Super-Con Optimus Prime and I expect they will find something to like in the Beast Hunters line, that large scale Weaponizer Dragon Predaking does actually look like it might be half decent toy for example.
My main concern with Beast Hunters is those little downgrades in quality (especially on the back of $16 Deluxes) with the likes of Bumblebee's missing back hinge or the endemic of clip on wheels. Not to mention that Wheeljack may have a massive gap in the back of his car mode too.
But my policy will remain the same as it is with Prime I'll save my money for Japanese items and will just buy the UK/USA stuff when it's on sale.

You guys must have missed the Armada days. Armada's official name in these parts was Fisher Price.
Autovolt 127
Oh your a real Seinfeld!
Rob
Lol, it is nice to see the return of a beefy Optimus Prime and a departure from the movie design as well. I wish we could see his cgi model to compare.
Wonder if Meg's will get a redesign? Not that he needs it.
Sideways77
Yep. The beefiness the Prime figure were missing SURE makes that figure look Fisher Price!
Your totally right, whitty poster.

10/10 will never read again.
Valkysas
How witty and original.
XxsnipersnakexX
looks like he was designed by Fisher Price

As in that both companies knows that people have liked all their previous produce so much that there are people who buy all the new produce. They both know that these people will pay attention and therefore buy anything they put out and it's because of this assumption that they drop any remaining effort put into their products. This is assisted by the fact that the timeline of success is followed by both companies very similarly: Upon their founding, the products were great, well received by the masses and very successful. Then, after a while they hit a point were it wasn't so great (season 3/Unicron Trilogy). They both then made comebacks (Prime and uncancellation) and now, because everyone likes it again, people are buying again and now they dropped the effort and the sales are rolling in nonetheless. They put very very little effort into their newest products and people still buy it regardless just for the satisfaction of having the latest thing released by the company. This goes for Hasbro, most TV sitcoms, Apple and more.
Thank God for 3rd Party Companies and Trey Parker!
What's even sadder is that this will cost $50 – on average – in Australia.

Ever since I have discovered the wonders of acrylic model paint I have been less concerned with limited factory paint. Mold detail is what is critical which Beast Optimus seems to poses a great deal of.
I ll try to paint him as accurately as possible to the cg model just got to see what he likes in the show first.
I do hope that range of motion and articulation is not Negatively affected by his bulkier size.
Valkysas
He's holding the cannon. Look at the shape and angle it's at compared to his arm's angle – they aren't angled the same. He's holding it, and his wrist is turned. You can even see the back of the missile poking out of the gun, which proves beyond any doubt that it's not replacing his hand. The back of the gun wouldn't be exposed for the missile to poke through if he had a gun for a hand.
Looking at the edits that give this blue windows and… that just makes it look boring and dull. Just another Optimus Prime. I really prefer the way they are. Makes it look really unique.
JDK
It doesn't look to me like those forearms are symmetrical. It doesn't look like he's holding the cannon, it's part of his arm. Could he get a cannon hand, and the arm in the wreckage was a false lead he left for Megatron? Probably reaching.
MrSoundmeister
Are you sure you're saying Hasbro is pulling a "Todd McFarlane" on us?
OH! so called it.
