A Transformers fan event was held in Japan at the Bic Camera Nagoya Station west shop. On show to the public was a vast amount of upcoming releases, including:

  • A test shot of Encore Fortress Maximus. He is shown here with the large “Master Sword” weapon confirming that yes, Encore Fortress Maximus will have his giant sword!
  • Upcoming Masterpiece releases including Soundwave and Red Alert, along with prototypes of the Masterpiece series cassettes Ravage and Rumble.
  • Upcoming releases from the Transformers Generations Japan line, including the five Combaticons and their combined form, Bruticus, Soundwave and Soundblaster, plus the Autobot and Decepticon Data Disks
  • Next month’s Transformers Prime Arms Micron releases, Ultra Magnus, Shockwave and Leo Prime
  • Also shown off to the public for the first time were the AMW-13 Advanced Star Saber and AMW-14 Gravity Planet Bow-Gun. These pictures show both sets will feature a mixture of clear plastic and solid plastic Arms Microns – for example, the O.P., B.2. and R.A. on the Advanced Star Saber are solid colors, while the I.R. and W.J. are clear plastic.
  • There was also a display for the Transformers GT and BeCool series.

Various Japanese fan blogs and feeds have been covering the event. Collected here are some of the pictures shared with the fandom at large by Snakas / Autobase Aichi, @Dragon_526 and @robo_z.

No, IIRC there was never 100% confirmation since all the promo pictures up to this point A) used G1 Fort Max as a stand in and B) omitted the huge sword. Granted, you could see the small sword, but that was not proof positive that the large sword was also included.

hmmm, what are all the slots and holes for on soundwave? functional?

  4. Sol Fury's Avatar Sol Fury says

I think - not 100% sure - that they're fake sockets for headphones and stuff, like the original one had. Probably not functional, just a part of the minicassette recorder detailing.

Indeed, now there's the real confirmation

Ar the early days, e-HOBBY already has said "with Master Sword".

I was not aware of this. Even so, I think we can agree that seeing the actual mold test for the sword sitting there makes it a whole lot more real than any line of text on a website ever could.
