Thanks to the Planet Iacon Facebook group, we now have in-package images of the soon to be released Takara-Tomy Generations Optimus Prime and Jazz. Not only are these toys the Japanese releases of the current Fall of Cybertron/Generations toys of Optimus Prime and Jazz with new metallic paint jobs, but the packaging may look extremely similar to those familiar with the current Generations line-up.

the difference in the # of paint apps in the official pics and the actual figure of optimus is lol.

More or less the same price point as United, which sold out really fast and several had to be reissued. It LOOKS expensive to members in the US, but for members in Asia or Europe it's pretty much the norm.
Heck, for members in Europe [excluding shipping], it's about 2-5 euros more than what's on the shelves here, with much better paint apps.

You don't know what you're talking about. But that's per the norm.
If the line is anything like Henkei and United it will be very popular.

Well, Christmas is fast approaching. With a little luck, you might spot some new things before the holidays have come and gone
I won't see FOC toys until 12/29 of this year unless a store breaks street date over here, which hardly ever happens though I did get Unicron a week before he was supposed to be released at a local store.
I can only speak for what I've seen, and that is the case at three TRUs in my area.
From the looks of things, it looks like Takara guessed right with the Arms Microns, children are gravitating towards them and the line as a whole I only wish the egg capsule machines were more assessable. Finding one with Transformers toys inside is nearly impossible, even in the big cities

That is really interesting. I like knowing the shelf life of other parts of the globe.
SG Roadbuster
don't get me wrong, the dotm stuff is shelfwarming even worse in my tru. especially the subline crap like gravity bots and robo fighters. but every time i go to walmart or target all i ever see is wave 1 foc. i havent seen the bruticus wave at retail yet.
PoweredConvoy
You do realize there is a lot more changes to the card than just that?
The whole thing is different, just similar. It's not like the movie lines that had just additional stickers on the packaging in most cases.

The only Transformer toys I've ever seen sit on shelves here are the live action movie toys. Toys R Us still has DOTM toys sitting next to the Prime toys, and only one of these lines appears to be selling, the currently on TV.
Composite Ghost
I can't tell if Jazz is a pearly white, or a very light gray like the AM Smokescreen.
SG Roadbuster
so now these can shelfwarm in japanese shelves?
Transformed
Would metallic white, hidden behind a plastic blister, show up in a picture anyway? It isn't a dull white, a see a shine on the surface.
These toys aren't in stores yet (probably won't be out until this time next month), but I'll be looking at these for sure when they come. I don't know If I'll pull the trigger though. 2,500 is a lot to pay for these little things–Arms Microns which are bigger don't even cost that much!
gunthetra
prime's unpainted chest grill and smokestacks really bug me, for some reason.
But yeah, interesting to see that they opted to mimic the Hasbro boxes, kindasorta like what they did with the Arms Micron line.

Wow that packaging is…of minimal effort lol. I'm not buying any of these for the packaging of course, but I do like it when Takara does their own thing rather than use Hasbro's setup and simply slap some Japanese writing and logos on there to differentiate.
Sorry, but what were you seriously expecting? It's hard to do metallic white.
Eggrollbs
Looks the same as hasbro.
Autovolt 127
Wow TakaraTomy is getting cheaper and cheaper with packaging.
Gryph
Because he'd look like Bluestreak if he was silver. Giving him a perlescent finish was the best option.
PrimeOQZ
The optimus is too much packaging, not enough toy. The paint job looks good though.
