By way of some online store listings and an early image posted on our fellow fansite Fullmetalhero, we’ve got some more news of new toys coming your way next year as a part of the Transformers Prime Beast Hunters series. First things first, that early look image – what you’re looking at is the first picture of an all-new Beast Hunters Cyberverse Commander Optimus Prime. The new Optimus design is a bulkier, brawnier look with elements of the War / Fall of Cybertron design worked in, particularly the “wings” on the back with the wheels on.
Secondly, by way of new solicits at online store Kapow Toys, we can confirm that the “Ultra” scaled Weaponizers will be returning for Beast Hunters. Moreover, three Weaponizers are listed – Optimus Prime and Bumblebee are there, presumably remolds / redecos of the existing Weaponizers, and making his debut in this size class is Ultra Magnus. With the big guy getting his third toy in the Prime line, what do you think his odds of showing up in the series are?
Of course, new toys are no confirmation of the direction the fiction might take – but it’s a good gauge of what we might want to start saving some money up for once these start hitting! Those Beast Hunters Weaponizers are due in February 2013 according to the listings, so we hopefully will not need to wait long to see more of them.

Exactly my reason for liking it that and the fact he turned into a real Earth vehicle for once.
SG Roadbuster
I actually kinda like what dotm did with Megatron's alt mode. what with making him all rusty and spikey. looked like an awesome corruption of Optimus
Autovolt 127
Thank you. That was BW Megatron;s pre-beast mode. But that's only a BotCon Exclusive.
Purple Heart
Its called a missile carrier and thats seems like a good choice.
Autovolt 127
If it were up to me. He'd be a missile launching truck.
Purple Heart
Optimus will never die….because it almost ended transformers.
if only the Autobots had to go on some epic journey to bring him back,
and i mean epic not ROTF.
kaijuguy19
I'd love it if he took the alt mode of a black Stealth Bomber like in the IDW comics because his cybertronian mode does look to be a bomber plane of some sort.
Autovolt 127
^This.
I mean with the alien jet mode he has… could really see their actually be a working figure out of that? Because I don't.
However If Megatron got a new alt. mode i wouldn't object to having one.
OptimussSTAR
This is what I am assuming too that he escaped and scanned a new vehicle mode
Valkysas
I'm guessing there's no weaponizer Megatron because they might not be able to get his design to work with the gimmick.
Arashistorm
A lot of people are overlooking Prime swinging his Star Saber downwards before the Nemesis' beam blew up the base. Why have him do that instead of just do the Titanic captain scene and stand there and accept his fate? The Star Saber was glowing too…I believe he managed to make a way to escape/get under the base before the mountain collapsed but his other arm was caught during the escape.
Prime is alive as much as Wheeljack is (who, let's face it, had a pretty obvious 'I'm still alive' 'death'). He'll probably show up mid-season/season finale. Remember, the Autobots are inhiding this season…Optimus probably scanned a new alt mode for that reason–that's how I see it anyways.
Saw Cybverse Commander Bulkhead? Looks like they're jsut throwing armor and heavy weapons onto the characters… and a crap ton of spikes. I'm all with you though, I liked the Prime in this series, I don't need ot see him boxed and fattened up like the previous versions…although something like RID would be okay I guess (he was big and had chunky parts, but was still sleek elsewhere)

Hmm, hard to tell what has changed with his alt mode from the pic. Whats with the Road warrior grill? Are they going for a more aggressive look for the characters to the point of them having a caveman look? I hope they don't adopt the Chunkimus prime look from the game or Energon Fatimus Prime.
Rogzilla
I don't know if that is a mantra or not. Remember, it was at Toy Fair 2011 that someone asked why there were no Leader Decepticons for Dark of the Moon and Hasbro said good guys sell better.
But Sentinel Prime wasn't a good guy. And the Decepticons always seem to sell fine. I think Hasbro just said that to, you know, avoid revealing the spoiler that Sentinel Prime was a bad guy.
Ravenxl7
True, they never said no to any larger Decepticons ever again, but that's not what I said at all. It is true that they've used the "Autobots sell better" excuse before. DotM Sentinel, evil as he was, does NOT count as a Decepticon. His toys were marketed as an Autobot. Also, I'm not saying that it's impossible, just very unlikely, and like I said, Predaking is a special case, as he's apparently a very important element to season three's plot.
Might want to uhhh…take your own advice…
I would agree with you if this wasn't an entirely new mold. There is potential for this to be a toy-only redesign, but I doubt it is. It would help if we had a picture of his Beast Hunters Weaponizer. If it's also a new mold, than that would be enough confirmation for me to say he's still alive, but if it turns out to be a repaint, maybe even a slight retool…I would wonder why they bothered with the new design for the Commander figure at all…

Just because a character gets a toy doesn't mean he will be in the show. Although its fairly obvious that certain characters will always be in the shows…Optimus, Bumblebee, Duke, Snake Eyes will (almost) certainly be included….And this toy looks pretty bad ass!!
TFW10
Thanks for sharing, just waiting for the rest of team Prime to show.
jgoss
see i knew he didn't die also the upgrade looks killer!!
OptimusPrimeFour
Where the F*** is our weaponizer Megatron!!!!!!! we all had enough of the damn Bee already!!!! Hasbro wonders why there sales are down when they keep trying to shove Optimus and Bee's down our throats all the damn time constantly! I'm sorry for being negative but the Prime and Bee crap has to chill the hell out! We are over due for a larger scale Megatron toy considering he is pretty much the largest on screen character.
Murasame
As if anyone would believe Optimus could die just because of that rubble. He's at most only unconscious
RedAlert Rescue
I could tell it was bigger than a voyager That explains why it's so big then if it's a "Super" toy – I was wondering why Hasbro was being so generous with the size of it and complexity next to say Weaponizer Bumblebee if it's a $50.00 toy that would explain why.
I don't even like Transformers Animated yet I'm quite fond of his helicopter toy. so I'd like to be able to say the same about another larger Megatron sometime.
It would be great if they were able to run with the Weaponizer size and make many more of them. but I suspect otherwise.
Speaking of Weaponizer Bumblebee if happened to look Weaponizers up on ebay-UK the other day and Optimus barely sells and when he does it's around £10.00 less than retail price and Bumblebee does a bit better he sells at about £5.00 below retail price. and 3 times as many units in the same time period have sold when listed.
So I'm guessing a lot of little Jimmies are getting a Bumblebee for xmas.
That was why I've suggested the Weaponizer Beast Hunters bee should have been released later in 2013 as a christmas/Thanks giving period toy. and Megatron should have been produced earlier in the year.
Perhaps Megatron gets Galvatroned up with spikey armour to and they are not saying so as to not spoil the surprise.
maybe the other Voyager is Megatron (I suspect it's Optimus though)?
Personaly I think if they make a giftset size deluxe Optimus and a weaponizer on they don't even need a voyager.
Oh and I'd not diss the existing Weaponizer Prime I was sceptical before I bought it too – but once I got it I quickly grew quite fond of it.
