Josh van Reyk and Shaun Knowlerthe, the creative team behind the well-loved Transformers: Mosaic project announced that the project has came to an end. For those who are unfamiliar with this project, it has been a Transformers fan comic project that has included many fan artists’ and writers’ work for quite some time now. Read the official statement from the TF: Mosaic team after the jump.
I would personally like to thank Josh and Shaun for all that they have shared with our community here as well as each and every contributor who has worked on this project. You guys all have done some great work, and you have enriched our Fan Art Community for many years with a multitude of great sequential artwork. Your contributions provide us with a multitude of great artwork, as well as a vast amount of inspiration for anyone who creates Transformers artwork on any level.
Also, feel free to check out our own Transformers: Mosic gallery in TFW2005.com’s Transformers Fan Art Gallery. If you are interested in having your own Transformers Fan Artwork featured in our gallery, be sure to check out the Fan Art Gallery Submission Guidelines. Share your own work and take part in our Fan Artist’s community in our Fan Art section of the TFW2005.com Creative Forums! “The end of Transformers Mosaic
END OF THE ROAD
Well, after five years and over six hundred and fifty individual pieces, we have both decided that the time has come to bring the Transformers: Mosaic project to an end. A number of reasons could be cited for drawing the project to a close, but ultimately, it was never going to last forever. We had a pretty good run, and it’s just time to bow out.
It’s been a true honor to watch the project which began as a humble collaboration on the IDW Forums grow to become a fandom institution, and even it’s own genre of Transformers storytelling. The project enjoyed incredible support from the wider Transformers community, and even the stewards of the franchise itself. We’ve had the blessed opportunity to work with some talented and passionate people, and even played a small part in launching a few professional careers.
So, what does this mean for anyone currently working on a submission for the project?
Well, first off, the ‘Transformers the Movie – Special Edition’ sub-project is no longer a stand-alone entity, and any pieces that were part of it, would now become regular submissions.
There are still a few completed pieces in the pile, and they will continue to be released as usual. These should take us through to the end of June 2012, so any other pieces that are completed and submitted before this time, would be released an included under the ‘Transformers: Mosaic’ banner.
After that time, any other pieces would be the responsibility of the creative team to release themselves. We do ask that any of these pieces, do not include the ‘Transformers: Mosaic’ logo, and are not advertised as such.
Obviously, this is not the end of Transformers fan-fiction. The project has spawned a number of other similar projects, just as TF: Mosaic itself sprang out of inspiration from an earlier one. There are many dedicated people in the community to keep telling their own tales. As a wise man once said, “It never ends”.
Thanks again to everyone who has; written, drawn, colored, lettered, commented on or just supported a Mosaic. This project truly was by the fans, for the fans. Take a bow, all of you.
It’s been an amazing five years, and we were lucky to be a part of it. We now look forward to where the creative community will go from here. Now get out there and write and draw the future.

There was one where the Autobot Shuttle carrying the Maximals back home from the Beast Wars was actually in a tractor beam by the Quints, and the Maximals had only imagined the events of Beast Machines, basically negating the entire thing in one fell swoop! Classic!
I'm on the lookout for artists to collaborate with into the future. If anyone is interested in some G1, End of the Great War type of comic, let me know!

This one is my favourite by far. The notion that Transformers may have helped change or shape the course of human history is mind-blowing.
Also… time to toot my own horn a little.

I actually had one or two more TFA Mosaic ideas in the pipeline, but Minttu had other commitments to attend to. A shame; she's an incredible artist and a joy to work with.

Sooooooo…….steering the topic back to brighter things:
What are some of the pieces you guys REALLY enjoyed a lot? Feel free to post thread links of your favorites!
Being a JEM AND THE HOLOGRAMS fan, I enjoyed this one a great deal:
Hot Shot.
No, it happened. It wasn't pornographic or anything. I think it was Ironhide and Moonracer walking along as a couple and stumbling upon Powerglide on top of their daughter in the missionary position. Powerglide jumped up and ran, with Ironhide chasing after.
There was a HUGE backlash against it. I think Hasbro ended up sending them a threatening letter and IDW yanked it down and apologised.
The guy who wrote it was completely obsessed with fembots and convinced transformers could screw each other with humanoid genetalia. He made several arguments to try and back it up, and he was eventually banned from every forum under the sun.
I'd say "Ask Sto_Vo_Kor about it", but he isn't here anymore. He got in plenty of spats with the guy.
EDIT: Here it is: Daddy's Little Girl
Apparently the little perv made a Deviant Art account and posted it there.
In b4 Prime Arcee fanboys say, "I don't see the problem."

Sad news. I'm glad I got to be a part of such a wonderful project, however; it was one hell of a great ride while it lasted.

Could they compile these as a trade-paperback? I'd buy in a heartbeat.
SMOG
Except don't put money on it, or you'll be blacklisted!
Kidding. That sucks dude… I assume your "unofficial" Mosaic is still available somewhere on the internet?

wait… what?
Ok I know some have been rather odd but…. that cant be a real one I know they had some editorial process.
*this is from someone who's had one of his works removed due to the writer paying for an artist in the past and because of this all of that writers works were blacklisted and deleted… yeah I'm a bit annoyed about it still it had nothing to do with me and the colourist yet the days spent drawing what was a well received peace got binned because of some board room drama, I do understand that what this guy had done was against their code of conduct but its d**kish to remove the hard work of others to teach one guy a lesson.
but back on topic I'd put money on a new project starting by the end of the month

Dang, it's been five years? I never did get around to making one…

Just after I got back into the fandom, the Mosaics started. It is sad to think that they are coming to an end, but the countless hours of hard work have given us all so many wonderful memories. Thank you so much!

Aw man… that sucks you guys won't be continuing the TF Mosaic project.

I think they should just put it on haitus and then bring it back under a "Volume 2/2.0" banner.
If they ever intend to collect or print these things, I think breaking them up into volumes by year would be best.
Gryph
Yeah. I was wondering the same thing.
KnightHawkke
was a fun little bit for the days they came out, thanks for the memories

I'm just not sure why they should bother "closing" Mosaic, rather than just passing it into other hands to carry it on. I mean, there was no one "mosaic continuity" to adhere to, the format was pretty open as long as it fit on one page. It seems unnecessary to close the door on the project.
I can certainly understand why those responsible would want to take a break and move onto other things… but why not leave it as an ongoing legacy? Considering the whole thing is just a fan art project, I don't really get the point of making a proprietary statement "ending" it.

Thank goodness. I was tired of these being every other article on the Allspark front page.

To all the fans out there that had the inspiration to contribute to this project, you have my sincere thanks for your efforts.
These truly were enjoyable to read again and again.

its a shame to see it go but I'd put good money on a few successors popping up under new names. I know of one started by a guy who got all his submissions removed but so far its purely SG stuff
Hot Shot.
I'm surprised it lasted this long past that really awful one Tramp did with Powerglide screwing Ironhide's daughter…
