FansProject’s latest announcement on their FansProject Core site is to post some artwork for something called “Assaulter”. Back in 2008, FansProject teased as a future Warbot release based on Generation 1 Broadside – and this Assaulter design, with its squat visored head, cockpit in chest and bulky armored design, might well be the realization of that concept! Right now it’s just a concept and might not even be Transformers related, so stay tuned for future updates.

Well this I can't argue about.
The only thing with Green giant is that I know Maketoys has had some help from FP with their endevors at least somewhat.. So maybe that makes you a bit more content.
I too wouldn't mind some fansproject stuff to put the crunch on my wallet before some of the other things that are coming.. I feel like I've been waiting for Igear's ratchet and ironhide for way longer than I have any FP release though.
I mean seriously.. what's the hold up there!
Composite Ghost
That's true. I really can't compare 3rd party groups to Hasbro and Takara. With their limited resources those groups are doing the best they can. Let me substitute Green Giant for SDCC Bruticus. I think I just want Fansproject to put some stuff out before I run out of money!

That sucks you had so many problems, I had none of those issues, aside from the wrist blades of thundershred needing a little work to keep those issues from occurring (blade breakage), that I had to take care of.
I'm excited about a number of things too.. Official products I'll almost always buy over the 3rd party stuff (would have bought the MP coneheads from hasbro before igear if they just made them..) but certain things like hexatron and cyclops as much as I'd like them but their company is relatively new to the game. For example, as much as i like my Xovergen grand patriot, I don't know if I'll be getting PMOP knowing some of the issues i've seen with it.
Also comparing fans project to has/tak isn't really fair. Because has/tak puts out more than most 3rd party companies combined.. We've been waiting on hexatron for quite some time now also. We've seen stuff from Mastermind creations, but haven't had a release since the train prime (and it's recolorings) so it's not like their release times are THAT vastly different.

I'm not going to treat Fansproject like a favorite band of mine that blew everyone away with their awesome early albums. But then with each new record I have to keep justifying to myself why they're still awesome even though in my gut I know they don't rock as hard as they used to. If they want my money they have to do a little better. Why should I keep spending my money on their supposed not-homages when there's things like Cyclops, Hexatron, MP Soundwave, Sideswipe, and SDCC Bruticus on the horizon, along with a whole line of Generations? I'm not trying to bash Fansproject, I'm just saying I expect more and from them. Maybe they could spend a little less time trying to create a universe and a website and a little more time making toys.

Bad luck is all.

I had two Thundershreds with incorrect blades. One Stormbomb with a crack right in the middle of its face, and two Backfiery's with a break in the yellow backpack where the insect legs connect. They're pumping out something.
Demonss
Maybe you're past the sooner than we think point..
I'm not.
If it comes out within the next 6 mo then it's sooner than I think. I fit comes out a year from now then I agree we're past that point.
I'll always go for fansproject regardless of how long it takes because of their reputation. Something I can't say about companies that pump out garbage.
daimchoc
Steelcore is the one that's coming out sooner, not Assaulter.
Autobot Burnout
Well, you have to remember that FP has been setting up the CORE system which would allow a greater interaction between them and the fans, and in addition to Assaulter there's SteelCORE, the Powermaster-esque original design, also in the works.
Plus, FP is the only 3rd party who even has a triple changer on the market, none of the other companies even have a competing product announced (to my knowledge), so I think FP is safe, and unlike many other 3rd parties (and in extreme cases Hasbro itself) quality in FP products is almost universally and consistently high, and as long as that trend continues people will come back to them.
Composite Ghost
We're past the "sooner than we think" point. So where is this thing?
It's in their best interests to actually release product. Hasbro/Takara and all the other 3rd party groups have some really awesome stuff on the way. The longer it takes for FP to release their robots, the more competition they're going to have for customers' money. Fansproject can't ride their reputation forever.

I think he's stating that this picture:
Looks a lot like thundershred with some different panels and such. Which is true based on the head sculpt and the looks of the body panels and such, then yeah it can totally look like that. I don't think it's the case though, but I can see where the statement comes from.
daimchoc
Huh?
Jigga
I think this is a retool of the current causality toys. Looks like its Thudershred retooled
Trailbreaker77
I can't wait to see a picture of this guy and FP's Springer together.
General Tekno
Loving the paint scheme. I really like it when we get figures with these sorts of hulking proportions; Broadside thus greatly appeals to me.
Hope he's at least a Voyager.
Megatron31
i hope its a big figure
but i love the homage to broadside cant wait to see some prototypes or altmode/modes images
slackerforhire
Huh. Never really thought about that, despite some really great Broadside customs being made from Tidal Wave… if the above repaint happened, I'd probably be powerless to resist buying it. Looks pretty slick.
Transbot90210
I love the paint scheme. It is soooooo Broadside.
I have the G1 Ultimate Brick in my collection and even though I have no connection to the character I do see the charm in the figure.
SOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooooo bought!
Any hints as to the size? I hope he is at least a Voyager or an Ultra.
Hothouse Prime
Here's the "official" image… Didn't see it posted in the thread.
Rewind
Damn you. I love Broadside, but I love Tidal Wave even more.
Gimme!
