Some interesting news for you now. A solicitation document from Takara-Tomy is doing the rounds, detailing items for the new mainline Transformers Prime series from Takara-Tomy. This document appears to confirm that an Airachnid toy is in the works! The bottom left corner of the scan also shows a (very, very small) picture of some prototypes, one of whom was identified as Breakdown.
So far, so groovy. Next up, there are some pictures of some new Mini-Cons. These are new molds, and seem to be more like Targetmasters than ever before. These would be the same ones seen attached to the remolded First Edition Optimus Prime in this news story. Now we know what their secret is!
Now updated with a clearer scan from our sponsors TFSource!

It would be pretty possible to do airacnids spider mode – the spider legs are a given as the rotor blades and her legs fused together in spider walk mode could just be the stem and tail section of the helicopter (i have no idea what these parts are called) i think its a given that the legs will transform into this part of the helicopter,
so i really dont think hasbro need to be totally concious to making the 3rd mode as it will just happen naturally.

Microns to TakTom are Minicons to Hasbro. To get on someone for saying that is like saying "It's Bumble, not Bumblebee!" or "It's Convoy, not Optimus Prime!"
Minicons.
Stepper
And also can transform into helicopter, that is a 3 in 1 transformation

Does anybody else think the Cyberverse Energon Driller might work for Deluxes as well? I just re-watched Darkness Rising Part Two and the Vehicon driving them was bigger than a Cyberverse Legion figure, which Knock Out seems to be…
Fort Max
Cheers GaoKaiser.
Thats awesome that they definitely are meant to be the characters actual weapons. Not immeadiately thrilled by the "comes with other toys" part, hope Hasbro will be doing the same or I may have to spend a load on Takara specials.
Stepper
Thought they had a prototype done already for Airachnid,so is just a matter of time before it come out.

About Microns(So, they're called "Microns", not Minicons!)…
Transform into show-accurate weapons.
Come with other toys.

This female villian of Airachnid is too good to be a pegwarmer
WoundSave
assuming you mean the RID Prime Soundwave, i dont have the toy but it didnt seem a terribly complicated transformation given that the wings are his arms-[
Stygian360
If Has/Tak could translate Soundwave…. then Airachnid is going to be a walk in the park. Well…maybe not a walk, but at least a trot. I think it's only a matter of time before we get a proper toy, and I'd lay bets on mid 2012.

She was an integral part of both Optimus and Sentinel's backstories… it does feel like her story is ultimately unresolved.
Wheeljack_Prime
Fair point.
Paxtin
They were still in the show a lot more then some characters who got toys. I'm looking at you Blackout.
I don't know if they ever officially mentioned Devistator, but they did heavily suggest it. Saying something along the lines of holding off on doing the Constructicons till they can do them right.
Wheeljack_Prime
Not really, 6 episodes out of 42 isn't a pretty good portion of the show. Plus, the reason they didn't get toys was because they wanted to hold off until they had enough of them to make Animated Devastator.
Paxtin
I'd be surprised if they didn't at least have a plan for her. Given she's been in a pretty good portion of the show so far.
Then again…So were the Constructicons in TFA…
Stygian360
Really? In my area she was a pretty swift seller. And is it just me or does 'hard pegwarming' sound like something involving either biscuits and/or possibly bacon?

It IS Robots in Disguise. You know how in DOTM the line was divided into Cyberverse, Mechtech, and Powerbots? Well Cyberverse is staying and Mechtech is getting replaced with Robots in Disguise. Possibly because deluxes and voyagers are going to have different gimmicks, hence the revealer and powerizer names getting tossed around.
And this is like the 4th time I've explained it to people who never bothered to read the news posts.
Veloxiraptor
Is it possible to make her rotor split into six separate appendages? Sure. You attach a spinning disc to her back as the rotor mount, have the stem of the rotor split into six wedge-shaped pieces like a tall cylindrical pie, with each wedge having a blade on it. Would it be feasible or look good though? I'd be surprised. I have to think it would really tax the part budget for a Deluxe.
Their last female villain was Animated Blackarachnia and she pegwarmed, hard. (In spite of being a very good toy.) I doubt they really had any toy plans for Airachnid to start with.
WoundSave
if they just gave her 4 spider legs on her back so that the helicopter blades didnt have to split apart or any other weirdness, it could be doable. A hinge midblade like Skyhammer for rudimentary articulation in bot mode, but that (maybe) would have to push the toy into the voyager/powerizer category
her head could fold out like FE arcee or starscream, with the rotor blades attached like arcee's wheel or starscreams backpiece.
personally given that the design is more complex than a car or plane, i myself wouldnt have anything bad to say about kibble, scale, or whatever else, i think just having the toy would be cool.
Ra88
Nah, you can. Her transformation is incredibly simple. The only real snag is the spider legs. They're formed by the rotors in the show, but I doubt that'd translate into a toy well.
