Hey Lumpy, it may be the version of Adobe reader. I'm using the of Acrobat Pro from the Adobe Creative Suite 3 to do these. I know these PDF's will have trouble on older versions of the reader.
Lumpy
I downloaded the first one to my computer and put it on my iPad and it was perfect, but the 2nd two haven't come up the same. I'm gonna try another computer and see what happens.
EDIT: so, on a different computer, they pull up just fine… something weird is going on with my computer… not sure what it is… but i'll have to play with it and figure it out.
Omnus
Gotcha. Nice mnemonic there. It does make what I felt like a second step needed in remembering it seem to disappear. Plus, everybody likes macaroni, especially when it's macaroni & cheese.

I've had no problem with any of the PDF versions.. The text was a tiny bit blurry on a few of the articles.. but not bad.
Though i've been using my ipad to read it.. Though I don't suspect that would make a difference.
Lumpy
is anyone else having issues with the PDF versions? both this issue and issue 2 come up with all the lettering for every article on top of itself on the left hand side of the page…
I've got a picture attached to help show what I mean. It's of page 2 from issue 2. Issue 3 is doing the same thing for me now, but the first one worked fine…
and you can see on the right side menu that the pages look normal there, is this just a setting that's wonky on my computer?
Demonss
Thanks for putting out this magazine.. not only is it more frequent than the club magazine.. but it's filled with more content.. Which means i've got more stuff to read on the way home on the train.. Awesome stuff!
Oh.. and it's free!

If you do please credit either TFWe or the image's creator Sol Fury.

Don't you love it?

The cover is ironic as Shockwave only has one eye… this means he can't watch films with Red/Cyan 3d glasses…

Black Oracle
Loved the DotM fun facts and Shib's lush Carly art!
Shin Densetsu
Haskaromy sounds like the word macaroni, nice ring to it imho, hence why I use it.

Well, I'll be commenting on two things from this issue (I think this is my first time commenting on any of the issues), but overall I have to say that I have been liking the TFWe issues and this was no exception.
The first thing I'm commenting on is Shin Densetsu's foreshortening of the companies that create these plastic incarnations of characters that we sometimes like or sometimes hate (and sometimes spend way too much of our limited financial resources on), coming from his Reign of Starscream article.
Of course, everybody is entitled to their own opinion, but to me, this particular foreshortening is a little unwieldy.
It has a certain logic to it, with the first mentioned company having the beginning of its name at the start, the middle of the second company in the middle and the third (which is actually just part of the 2nd) having the end of the name by taking the tail-end of the company name.
It has the additional logic of giving an equal number of letters to each company name (well, when two of the three were separate companies).
Like I said, though, it seems unwieldy to me. Remembering the exact chunks of each corporate name that contribute to this new term requires an extra step as far as I can see, due to the second corporate name.
Would I be stating all of this if I didn't have my own alternative for this corporate fusion name? Only if I liked wasting my time (I don't).
The name that has been in my head, but I've never used on the board before since I haven't seen any particularly good opportunity to use it is: Hastakto (or HasTakTo if you want to make the separate corporate names stand out more, even though it's more effort).
So, how is my name fusion any more wieldy? Two ways: First, it just slaps a small extension onto the corporate term that had already been widely in use – HasTak. Second, the name is easily enough pronounced and remembered due to the similarity of a child's game that we should all be familiar with: Tic-Tac-Toe.
That pretty much finishes up what I have to say on the matter, in the void of not yet having any responses or comments on what I've already stated.
I normally avoid the movie forum of the board because of the extraordinarily high amounts of bombastically-irrational opinions and discussions. So I was completely unaware that there was anyone in the fanbase that didn't like Laserbeak's portrayal in DotM. Needless to say, I'm not one of them. There are several reasons for this.
First is the fact that I'd have to say that his portrayal in DotM is the closest to his original G1 source (via the tech specs and profile) of any of the TF characters in the Bay TF movies. His source self would have had to have been able to talk, otherwise his descriptive saying/motto would have been "Scrwalk" and he wouldn't have been able to fulfill his function of Interrogation very well (his Skill rating says he performs it very well).
The second is one of the things Secretcode mentions in his article. If you're going to have an Earth-based alt-mode, it should be something that allows one to blend in and do what they need to do in the most efficient manner possible. Laserbeak did this in spades with his plethora of alt-modes (how many did he have again? Five?).
As an aside to that, it would be great to get a screen-accurate Laserbeak, complete with all of his alt-modes. Hastakto can't do it, but a 3rd party company might. With the necessary engineering complexity involved, it would probably only run about $300 .
The final reason was his screen presence. It wasn't enough to give him a nice intimidating look (at least to a human) to suit what he was doing and to generally look cool (never thought I'd say that about a Bayformer), but the amount of dialogue he had. As far as I could remember when I walked out of the movie, he had the most dialogue of any TF in the film. Although that last bit would have to be checked for veracity when it's possible to do so.
That pretty much covers what I wanted to say, other than 'looking forward to more issues of TFWe'.
