Jose Lopez has shared with us some cool concept artwork from Transformers Prime by way of a New Year’s gift. The artwork showcases all the major characters in their robot modes. Click on the link above to check out the full assortment of images on Jose’s blog.

Here's digging up an old thread, but does anyone have super-hi-rez versions of these renders? All I've been able to find to this point is the Optimus robot mode in hi-rez. The others allude me. Any help would be great!

Never mind that original Transformers was several different toy lines (some with different aesthetics) cobbled together to make one. They can slap an Autobot or Decepticon symbol on any transforming robot and call it a Transformer if they want.

Not Transformers? Well, let´s see…
Approved by Hasbro? Check.
Turn into cars, planes and shit? Check.
As far as I am concerned these are Transformers.

They all look so good, especially Cliffjumper and Bumblebee!

I notice that Starscream has swing wings like the War For Cybertron version does.
And I would like to see a decent image of the Eradicon space type Decepticon flyer seen in the final part assault on the space Bridge scenes. why not show us them as unlike Cliffjumper they will probably show us them again in future episodes.

megatron has his fingers crossed

personally ..Ive always seen Starscream as an effeminate character.

ALL SEXY AS HELL..Screamer is the shit. CLIFF is my favorite design and character. They all look amazing. Work beautifully on screen. SOUNDWAVE is represented extremely well..just to damn bad!
Optimus Convoy
Starscream has girly legs and his feet look like high heels.

I love megatron
totally agree

What Paxtin said.
Great design aesthetic overall, best seen when animated of course (as people have mentioned with the Starscream design). Soundwave, Megatron & Arcee are real standouts tho, great individual use of key lines and silhouette, which is what it's all about with good character design.
Paxtin
lol…No. There is no such thing. Stop it. G1 puritans…Just stop it. I know you are in love with the old retro super robot style, and that's all fair and well, but there is no such thing as a one true Transformers aesthetic. These are just as much Transformers as G1, Beast Wars and TF: Animated.
I can respect that some people are just not going to like some character designs. But this 80s hipster BS mentality of there only being one true Transformers has got to stop.

It really isn't when you see that Starscream just takes a bit from each version.
Animated head, Movie cockpit and wings placement (color too), missiles on arms like TFA Starscream toy and Leader Starscream…
The only original thing Prime Starscream got is his forehead crest really.

see, i thought it looked even worse in motion then still ~ the overly long slender arms just don't work for me and the missiles on the forearms just look comical.
I'd actually be really interested to get a look inside the design process. As a graphic designer who has spent a lot of time working with big brands, i still can't believe Hasbro approved that Starscream, especially given how routed the rest of the designs are in the movie-verse aesthetic, and to a lesser extent the Animated aesthetic, Starscream is just SUCH a departure from any prior version of the character (even animated, while being one of the more unique redesigns of a known character from that show, had one foot firmly in G1)

I'm with you, they are a step away from Bay but these are still not Transformers. Looks like Jose was ingesting alot of Yoji Shinkawa (Zone of Enders/MGS) and Gundam, along with carryover from the movies.
Transformers has a particular aesthetic that is rooted in 70's/80's Japanese robot styling. They had a sense of character and appeal. I don't think TF has to remain the same for eternity, but I just can't get into these.
Well drawn and work fine as bots but just not right for this franchise. IMO.

nice concept art! i think prime's head makes him look kinda like a ninja though lol
MenasorMaster
wait, where are breakdown and Knockout, i guess they arent allowed to show them till they appear on TV ??
RedAlert Rescue
I'd like a good look at one of the aerial Eradicons.

Yeah, the title does seem slightly misleading. These are more final designs. Though they are probably the final concepts of the characters. So they could be considered concept art in that right.
They are in fact, apparently, Jose Lopez's 2D drawings, colored(Most likely with Photoshop.) by Augusto Barranco. Guy does good work.

Aren't these final renders and not concept art?
