Some great news from Red leader of our sponsor Kapow Toys. He reports that the popular Transformers Henkei line, the series that the Classics and Universe 2.0 toys were released under in Japan, will be returning in December. Renamed Transformers United, the line will see the Transformers Generations line get a Japanese release. Ten releases are known so far, and the information we have received from Red leader suggests that they will also have metallic paint jobs. Whether this is in the style of the chrome on the past Henkei releases, or something more like the Takara-Tomy Transformers Animated releases remains to be seen.
The ten toys that have been listed so far are:
1) UN01 – Optimus Prime Cybertron Mode
2) UN02 – Bumblebee Cybertron Mode
3) UN03 – Cliffjumper Cybertron Mode
4) UN04 – Megatron Cybertron Mode
5) UN05 – Soundwave Cybertron Mode
6) UN06 – Optimus Prime
7) UN07 – Bumblebee
8) UN08 – Autobot Drift
9) UN09 – Megatron
10) UN10 – United Straxus

no I don't think so, they already have that line for it, if it's released, it's called Autobot Alliance (for all movie-related takara release)

Any chance these would be the jazzed up ROTF voyager figures of Prime (that was gonna come with Jetfire bits to glom on) and Megatron (painted up silver) that we saw months and months ago but were eventually cancelled?
Tigermegatron
well hopefully it's a voyager sized "TF Prime" megatron toy mold.
Tigermegatron
my guess is megatron, prime & bumble are "TF Prime" toys.
Thundershot
Doesn't mean United has to be…
Angelwave
A Voyager Megatron? That's strange in itself, considering that Generations is a deluxe only line……….
Venksta
Interesting news. It adds to the recent Generations listing we found out, and might explain why Megatron wasn't part of that list.
catz
no clue sadly, I only found out that it's a voyager because it's priced differently and a case of him consist of 6 figures in a case while the other deluxe is 12 figures in a case (even the 'new' optimus is a deluxe judging from this)
Sepultron
Was there any mention of this being a new mold or just a repaint/re-release of the original Voyager Class Classics/Henkei Megatron?

Local Hasbro branches, if I understand correctly, can release whatever they want (barring an specific restrictions) so long as they can source stock and they can convince retailers to stock the items.
Hasbro Australia gets most of the Hasbro releases intended for North America and Asia, as well as a few Takara Masterpieces.

jsut got word the the megatron will be a voyager toy

So its happened before then. Cheers. I didn't know that

The Ultra Magnus/Optimus Prime 2-pack and Grimlock/Jetfire 2-pack didn't get released over here, either, and they were in all-English Classics-style packaging.
Fort Max
I already got most of them as generations but I didn't have any complaints about the decos, now it'll be interesting to see what Takara does differently and whether I lean over to TF:Utd for future purchases.

I still don't understand why Challenge at Cybertron aint getting an American release considering its in US packaging and everything on it is in English.
Anyway, Transformers United sounds like a football team but i'm glad there will be future deco choices, as i've always liked to pick and choose the best from both Henkei and classics, i.e mix and match.

Well, you're talking about two different companies, for one. United is Takara. The three pack is done by an Asian division of Hasbro.
And Japan is going to get modified (in deco) versions of the Generations toys as United. Asia got modified versions of Cyclonus, Rodimus, and Galvatron in that three pack. It isn't a case of anyone getting our stuff and us not getting theirs, it is a case of each group getting their own variations on those figures.

Right…
Burnout
okay they get our stuff over there but we can't get the G&^^AMN 3 PACK OVER HERE?!!! If we cant get stuff they release they shouldnt get what we release. only fair ya know?

I have both versions of Astrotrain. I prefer the Henkei version because the goofiness of the gray is now so distinctly Astrotrain, but I also love the Hasbro version as a nod to the Takara origin and as a more realistic color scheme.
