One of director Michael Bay’s favorite actors, Glenn Morshower, will return in Transformers 3. The Actor page on his official website confirms his casting in the movie, although his role is unknown at this time. Glenn Morshower portrayed the role of Colonel Sharp in the first movie and was killed when Blackout destroyed the Soccent base. In Revenge of the Fallen, Glenn played the role of General Morshower.

Actually they did. The already mentioned Colonel Sharp bit before Blackout's attack on the SOCCENT base, as well as Lennox referring to him as General Morshower in ROTF after Optimus dies and Galloway shows up with his orders to take over NEST and the Autobots to return to Diego Garcia. Never actually seeing him die in the first one is irrelevant considering Lennox's team, which the Sharp character was NOT a part of, were the only ones to survive the SOCCENT base attack. Bay just liked Morshower's performance so much as Colonel Sharp that he brought him back as a completely different character with his own name. I'll grant that it's confusing, but it's not that big of a deal. Anyway…
Glad he's coming back. Glenn Morshower is badass.

YEAH! i love this bad ass!
Optimus Vader
Ok, now I get it. I don't watch 24, so other than David of The Lost Boys I couldn't name a single person on that show. I can understand the excitement if you're a big 24 follower.
VAwitch
I like his delivery of a military leader. Gen Morshower just sounds like a General's name, given the current names of the US leaders.
Either way, I'm curious to see how NEST has evolved/gone underground.

I ran this program through a logic module:
IF same actor = Different Character + No explanation
THEN
Different Actress = Carly + Needed Explanation
ELSE
Michael Bay is a dweeb
ENDIF

"Colonel Sharp, we have an unidentified inbound infiltrator"
I always thought it was the same character in both movies, but I've only watched them 100 times.
Hakka.
Prime82
its easy to think that since we never actually saw him die and they didnt really refer to him by name in either movie
Prime82
yet another stupid disregard for any kind of reality that spoils the immersion in a movie thats supposed to be about transformers. i guess we have to ignore things like this
Xaxis
How many Generals do you think were in the audience? I'm sure they'd all have remembered him from the first movie since he was a military guy.

Point taken….
BurnZ
I thought he was the same character in both movies.

Because of the actor. He has a fair following on the internet, mostly because of his role on 24.
Isn't Morshower's Aaron Pierce character one of the mainstays of 24? I believe the only other actor who has appeared on 24 as regularly is Keifer Sutherland.

I said the general audience not us

I liked him a lot better in the first movie…in the second he did not do much but sit in front of a monitor and grumble bad one liners
wylungz
LOL oh god. i always wondered how he was in the 2nd movie wen i thought he died in the first but never questioned it b/c he played a good commander/general/watever he is…
Omnius
No reason they can't bring him back, it's not like he portrayed a character who died in the previous movie.
Oh wait.
the unacronner
I hope he plays a guy who has the ability to grow his head and feet really large …rides a pet unicorn.. oh and has a special pouch of magical dried monkey lips that he throws into the air while shouting "chorbie chorbie chorbie frongo"
