Igear has posted the 1st images of their upcoming PP-03E Elegy figure from their Fighter Team series. These Masterpiece Transformer style transforming figures feature alt modes derivative of the F-15 Eagle, just like the venerable cone head Seeker team in G1. The not-Dirge Masterpiece style figure will presumably be followed by not-Ramjet and not-Thrust, filling gaps in your MP Transformers collection.

Some pop up on ebay for ridiculous prices sometimes. I beleive i saw one the other day going for 300 ish in a bidding war. That said most e-tailers havnt had these for years sadly.

are these still for sale anywhere?

Maybe so, but "being stupid" isn't a fair assessment. A top coat of whatever color with a molded color of plastic is a GOOD idea, as if there were paint rubbing issues, the chipped paint doesn't show a completely different molded color. Also, having a top coat of paint is present on the TarakaTOMY releases of the MP Seekers (Skywarp and Thundercracker, notably).

I wonder when PP03C will be up for preorder on TFsource.

Now that i think about it, if the info was true, and after looking at some pics, i do believe that will be the final color. Oh well i still want it!!!

I think the test shot blue looks fine. It looks like it's close to Generations Dirge. But really, I'll be fine with whichever color it comes in.

No I don't think they will be painting over wings. As that's just way too much paint app on a toy. I'm pretty sure the final one should be molded in tan plastic for wing and I hope the blue goes back to the original promo pics and not this test shot colour. It would be stupid to mold a toy in this blue just to repaint it with a coat of dark blue and tan.
iluvu_superion
sigh, if I only had to dough to be collecting masterpieces, I would…but I can't…
Superquad7
I still think the intent is to paint over the blue plastic, as the orange wings are also molded in the same color of plastic.
Jigga
hmmm what happen with the blue?? I like the blue in the promo pic over the test shot. I thought it would be more dark blue then royal blue.
Skywarp181
Yeah, these are just base color shots, kinda like the first colors that they showed.
Jigga
Is this a test shot? I always thought that the wings were going to be brown like G1

Sweet! Unfortunately, this is the only one I pre-ordered, I really wish I could have gotten Jet along with Elegy. Was there a color pic of Jet someplace? What's the link to their fb page?
Skywarp181
I like the blue from the fist pics we've seen. Like on the first page. Can't wait to see more!

I like em'. Don't care about principle pertaining to some weird ethics debate. If Takara can't come out with these characters fast enough, I will buy from igear.

With how MP Starscream transforms, the conehead would point into the abdomen blocks, which is perfect, because the abdomen blocks have a large hollow in them that should be the right size for that conehead.
However, there's a chunk of plastic behind Starscream's head in robot mode, that, if left intact, would definitely impede perfect transformation. Either they've engineered that out of the way, or more likely you just have to detach and re-attach the cone before and after swinging the head out.

I believe that Hasbro and Takara Tomy have no immediate plans to produce Masterpiece Dirge, Ramjet, and Thrust partially due to the sales of Masterpiece Skywarp in the U.S. MP Skywarp did not sell well due to the fact that it had to go on clearance for a while. Basically, there are not enough people willing to pay full retail price on the non Starscream Masterpiece Seekers to make them profitable. If a $60 toy eventually drops to $5, it tells the company selling them that it probably was not good idea. Personally I like and have Hasbro's Masterpiece Skywarp and was willing to pay full price for it but there are not enough people who would agree with me in order to give Hasbro more confidence. Experience tells me that any jet that does not have the name Starsceam or Jetfire tend to stay on the shelves longer.
Also there is a connection to the BP oil spill with this topic. We are all addicted to plastic toys and plastic comes from oil. Factories still need more sources of oil to feed our addiction to plastic products. I do not see many people carving their own wooden toys here.
