Fansproject has released a series of new images through TFClub, showing the various accessories and weapons that will come with their two Crossfire sets. In addition to the all-new designs for the right arm and leg, there is a variety of weapons to arm your Combaticons to the teeth.
Also shown is the final combined mode of the Crossfire sets, revealing the full extent of the add-ons, replacing nearly 50% of the original combiner’s body for a more Generation 1 style look.
Click on the link above or the title of this story to check out the images, and be sure to visit our sponsors to place your preorders if you want to own these add-ons. Preorders for Big Bad Toy Store can be found here and preorders for TFSource can be viewed for Set A and Set B.

Hey all, since these sets have been released I'm going to lock this thread. If you have questions or comments on these figures you can go to the feedback thread—>http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-feedback/320006-fansproject-explorer-munitioner-bruticus-pictorial.html
And nice job on the heads Soundwave3k.

I've added a thread in Radicons with sale info on the heads: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/commissioner-listing-feedback/324477-custom-onslaught-brawl-vortex-heads-complete-your-fp-bruticus-upgrade.html.
@exomega255 Unfortunately there is no light piping. To everyone else, thanks for your comments! I also tried to answer all your questions in that thread.

Soundwave3k: I'd totally be into a set of the new heads.

Just turn the legs sideways, like this…..
Waist piece fits better, and no mini-con ports in the way….

I'm interested in the upgraded heads as well.

I'll take a set but how did you take the other heads off? Did you use the heating iron method?

Do want those heads!!
Upgrades for your upgrades… the clear sign you hit it out of the park. Thanks FP!
exomega255
do they have light piping?

I'm definately interested in those heads as well.

that's amazing, I want them!

@David and Pun-X3, I have a Radicon's thread with G1 heads for Onslaught, Brawl, and Vortex here: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radicons-customs/324174-classics-onslaught-vortex-brawl.html.
I will be posting new pics tonight of casted heads without paint; as I said in my thread, my paintjob was kinda sloppy as I was tired but impatient to see the results without the proper paint.
If enough people are interested, I will make a sales thread for them.
A couple of pics:

Ordered my set of these guys today. Can't wait to get em!

I know someone cast a head based on their oversized KO set. Maybe even in this thread somewhere? Don't know if he'd make multiples and sell them, but you can check.
For me, I have to see what my options are. Could cast a copy of the Explorer head and retool it. Or do something from scratch.
Though, if I come up with anything remotely decent, I'll be sure to show it off in Radicons.

If you (or anyone else) makes a more-G1 Brawl head, I'd be interested.

Got mine today! Absolutely outstanding. Spent the last four hours fiddling with the two figs and their weapons, and the three other figs I have from the original Energon line.
I had a hard time snapping the Bruticus head'n'plate in place too. Then I realized that the upper portion that fits on top as the j-hook snaps underneath had some plastic spur on it. Once I cleaned that up, it clicked right in. (anyone having issues might want to check that mini "upper ramp" that juts out at the top/end of the panel)
Only other QC thing was one of the back-end rifles had its pump-handle on backwards (had two with the 'peg' facing the same way) Thankfully it's a clipped-in piece. Simple matter of pulling it off and reversing it.
I was VERY surprised with how solid "Swindle" is. He was the first I opened, and he feels extremely close in quality to the other basic figures. Yeah, you can tell the plastic is different, thinner, etc. But his overall weight and mechanics are just solid. So much so that when I opened up "Blast Off" he felt a bit loose and lighter. I think if I'd opened him up first, it would have played to my expectations exactly, so I blame Swindle for setting me up. Still, both are great figures. (Oh, and no stress marks near his nosecone hinge anywhere).
I did have some fitting issues with some of the parts on Barricade. Perhaps because this set was designed more around the actual Target-based Bruticus set (and who knows how mold-degradation may have changed it). I had issues with his backpack/double-cannon fitting on his arm spots. It works, but it keeps popping off the left socket. Another issue is the waist plate. It isn't very secure behind the double-cannon, and it has no place to lock down (that I can see?) in launch platform mode. It does fit nice and tight when all combined…but I notice the Minicon ports on Barricade's knees REALLY get in the way. I'm debating if I'm going to chop those off or not–it would definitely help.
The guns are amazing. I had so much fun fitting and mixing them up. Only ones I don't really care for are the rocket packs for Blackout/Vortex. They work, but it's a bit meh. (Too big/bulky maybe?) Definitely an awesome as connector pieces (and it is a great way of making them functional in all modes).
Only other issue (and just my circumstance) is Barricade's colors not matching, since–again–this is more designed around the Bruticus set. Not so bad in "Colossus" mode, but it shows in Onslaught-mode and platform-mode.
I know this all sounds kinda bashy; I'm really just going pro/con on stuff. Overall it's a great set, and I'm VERY happy I caved and picked this up. I'm going to be pulling off "Brawl's" head and seeing if I can make a repro/sculpt or something that looks more G1. (Blackout is going to be left as-is, just because I've always liked his entire look. And the purple versus blue doesn't bother me one bit.)

Bruticus is making fun of Maximus

I gave up. These two are now sitting in my pile of loot. I'll just have to skip
buying something else to balance the budget.
Meh, the DCUC GL 5-pack didn't look that good anyway.

Okay… we all know these are cool. At risk of sounding like I'm focusing on the negative, what are everybody's issues with these figures?
I checked my Explorer out of the box, and the one I ordered for a friend. Neither one has stress marks, thankfully. However, I could easily see how it could happen.
Munitioner is a solid toy, a tough little soldier that feels structurally as sound as most Hasbro releases. Explorer on the other hand is a delicate little flower. I had some real moments of tension transforming him for the first time… so many thin, thin little flaps and panels! The plastic feels much more brittle on Explorer, but it might just be due to the tiny parts.
Also, I really should have noticed this beforehand with all the photos available, but it wasn't until I had all the parts out of the box that I realized that the distribution of weapons and stuff is pretty much random… one figure doesn't carry all his own weapons in vehicle mode. Basically, when they go to robot mode, they all have to swap their guns around. Would have been nice if they were a little more interchangeable, though they still did a pretty good job integrating it all.
I've spent a couple of hours getting to know the figures… still haven't formed the "Colossus" mode. That'll be later tonight.

OhSlag!
Mine has the same problem and I don't know what to do about it. I don't want to return and have the figure run out or take forever to get.
Did anyone else have this problem?
