A user on the chinese message board Actoys has recently shared some images of the just released Generation 1 Springer and Octane knock offs. For now, he has only shown the figures loose. We have no packaged images, making it impossible for now to judge any faults when and if these show up for sale as MISB pieces.
Click on the title bar above and see if you can spot the differences from a real Generation 1 piece.
*UPDATE: New boxed images courtesy of board member solitudinal. Click on the title bar to see if you can catch the differences*

Try downloading the Chinese or East Asian languages pack if you're using Internet Explorer. I believe other browsers have similar language packs you can download from their respective sites.
Reon Kadena (thank you Wikipedia).
If anything, it dares people to challenge just how authoritative the claimant is.

Man, after seeing those in-package pictures, I want a Springer now.

GAUGE
I'd buy these in a millisecond if I saw them in a store.

They look like the original, Im prolly gonna get that Springer! (never had him as a kid) got a universe Tankor (Octane) so not in the market for him. KO or not don,t make a difference to me unless the price is outrageous then it makes a difference!
NoLessThanAGod
you didn't know?
Runamuck
Same here. I think they look just as nice in the packaging. And when they're in the packaging, they're a lot easier to dust too.

God is a Chinese kid making $2 a day?
NoLessThanAGod
But… that's why god made them

Whatever friend, you asked about the girl first!!!

I'm almost 34 years old and although I love my Transformer toys, I don't sit in the floor and play with them like a kid. I like to display mine on a shelf. I'd rather pay less for "fake" display pieces that look really nice than to pay a fortune for an authentic in a ealed box.
That's unfortunate, but true. There will be some people who pass them off as original. It's ALWAYS up to the buyer to know what they getting into though. I hate to say that, but it's true.
NoLessThanAGod
I never saw the point of wanting pretty packaging for fakes. I mean I love em as much as the next guy, but they're for playin not for keepin… much like all toys.

very true foster
blahduh
Yeah, MISB for a fake, what's the point?
And as always, u WILL see seller trying to pass those as the orignal.
There was a KO swoop ended about 2 weeks ago with $500. The seller purposely opened the box(not the bubble) and did some "damage" to the box.

Calling yourself an "Authority" doesn't make you an expert.
grimlock1972
figures there so called "experts" aren't seemingly expert on spotting knock offs
RoboticPlanet
AFA certainly isn't keeping up on every bootleg out there either. An AFA'd KO 1984 GI Joe Storm Shadow was on eBay priced at $500 last week. The seller eventually ended the auction, hopefully not because they got an offer outside eBay.
grimlock1972
i fully expect these to hit ebay as MISB G1s with price to match and id not be surprised if someone tried to slip one past the AFA guys
Agent-GHQ
What I find disturbing is that even Hasbro or TT lacks the will to make them for the G1 fan and collector.
And I definitely hate the KO's prices!! Fuck that man!

At least the wraparound of Octane’s wing onto the front of the package appears to be a dead giveaway. The gradient switch from black to red/purple on the front of each box appears to happen quicker on the originals. The background color appears to almost fully transition from black to red/purple between the top of the part of the box holding the figure and top of the window on the originals. The KO’s appear to take almost the full height of the window to fully transition colors.
