SG Collect‘s website has been updated with new images of prototypes for its upcoming DFT-01 (Drift) assembly kit. The pictures show the figure’s scale, weapons, robot and Cybertronian alt modes.
The kits will be made of resin and come mostly unpainted and unassembled. 300 units will be released in a yet unnamed convention in mid July 2009. Pricing for SG Collect members will be 110 Singapore dollars (75.92 US dollars) while overseas orders will be 100 US dollars.
This is not an official Hasbro o Takara-Tomy figure.

I like how he looks but his price is way to high.
BB Shockwave
The cancelling/hiatus of Universe is to blame, IMHO.
We don't know 100% certain that Drift will never be made. Maybe he will be made if AHM's storyline continues (not that I'd like the character, did we really need a silent samurai Wolverine-like Mary Sue Autobot?) – but I can bet he will be made with an earth mode IF he gets made, so this custom won't be redundant.

it's not that bad but it's still super blocky =\
Johnator
That looks really good!

Ordered!
Hopefully I didn't just get scammed out of $100 Or they end up releasing a painted plastic version later.

That's because it's the Cybertronian alt mode.
I presume they are doing the Cybertronian version on the off chance Hasbro decides to do Drift at a later date.
I like it. Ever since Titanium Prowl I've been on the lookout for good Cybertronian mode vehicles. There aren't as many as I thought. Seems like when it's Cybertronian, they simply don't try as hard. Most of them are just a bit random.
Orion_Prime48
awesome! I want one
NATO-BOT
That's pretty cool. Too bad about the 300 unit limit though.

INTERESTING!!!!….i would definitly buy this if it was available….
curlrup
Ok that's cool they are going to do some urethane casting of those parts. Do it all the time here at work…not figures but take the 3D printer parts and make molds from them. Now I would buy them. Thanks for the info
Paxtin
Looks really cool…Just not $100 cool.
I'd probably buy that for $30/40 tops. But somehow I doubt these third party figures will be priced that low, since it's usually the accessory kits alone that go for that much.
As cool as a lot of these are, I just don't see myself buying any of them. I can justify paying $100 for something like City commander, but a deluxe sized figure just isn't worth $100 to me, no matter how nice it is.

I shall paint it pink and call it Arcee!!!
dark69
wow looks alot better then the old pix
saberconvoy
That is cool
really like this tf prototype
Nutcrusher
Too bad it doesn't transform into a realistic car.
Brave Magnus
Why Hasbro? why you didnt release Drift? I mean, you got so many official shelfwarmers, one more wouldnt kill you. T.T
such a great toy.
Bgrngod
Wow. That's roughly 10x better than I was expecting. No melty parts to be seen.
Aaaaaand. How to go about getting this exactly? I mail one arm, a leg and a testicle to where?
Lucs
Man that thing is turning out so nice. I'm kind of glad he's not an earth-type car or that he doesn't have wheels, that I can see anyway, because that would make me really want this and for whatever he's gonna go for on the after-market that would be quite a pretty penny
Erector
Or over 9000.
I'm gonna bite the bullet on this one I think, this looks nice. Hopefully it won't turn out like Magnus head…
jason jupiter
wow sweet! there are shoulder and leg joints on the guy! makes a world of difference.
