The iGear product blog has been updated with images of the next iGear set, TF-007. This set is a display diorama base set, inspired by the Autobot HQ aboard The Ark in Transformers Generation 1! Central to the set is the iconic Autobot computer Teletraan-1, with a medical bay and the various side computers completing the look. 2005 Boards member S250 states that this display base will be sold in three sets – what you are seeing in the images here are unpainted prototypes of the fully assembled product, which as you can see is in scale with the Transformers Classics / 25th Anniversary Universe series.
Also be sure to check out the CGI renders of the companion piece to this set, a Decepticon HQ display base complete with their central console and a throne for Megatron to sit on.

I can not argue your want for a modular set not being fulfilled. As I said in an earlier post, if you want a modular set this isn't for you.
The point I want to stress, IF YOU DO NOT WANT A MODULAR SET TO FIT THE NEEDS OF YOUR EVER CHANGING SHELF, is that with minimal Krazy glue the set becomes a very straight even and awesome one piece display that fits perfectly on my Billy Shelf. If you don't want to use any adhesives on this set then you are simply SOL the set will not hold together.
Thanx

I had the luck of having people post there on youtube and telling what they did to build it.So I was ahead of the game when it came and I used scotch tape on the back to hold them together as I wa building it.But I know you were one of the first to get it and didn't have no help period

I want this… But it's a bit pricey. Wish I hadn't missed it on sale at BBTS.

I can't even BEGIN to stress how full of bullcrap this statement is. I didn't simply return this product to BBTS (the ONLY time I've ever done so in years of collecting) because of hype. No sir, it is a TERRIBLY flawed piece.
I preordered this thing the minute it was announced – as a transformers base in scale with Classics/G1 figs was a genius idea – and spent nearly 3 hours trying desperately to piece it together when it arrived. Every attempt collapsed like a sea of dominoes. Parts and connectors were completely warped right out of the box. Nothing would hold together correctly. I didn't order a $130 model kit – I ordered a supposed "modular" playset to fit the needs of my ever-changing shelf space. This thing is complete garbage and THAT is why consumer opinion is low. I was hesitant to ever buy an iGear product again after this. A simple check of the feedback thread would illustrate how many people had a similar experience. No, it wasn't "IN" to hate on this set.

Buy a second Autobot set and paint it. They're still widely available.

The only draw back to the set, once it is glued and one super stable piece (I really want to stress that because that was the main complaint), you can not rearrange it.
It is too bad this set had it's flaws. It originally generated a lot of hype. I think the amount of negativity about this set was more so because it became "IN" to hate on it. I wish it had more appeal because I really want the Decepticon version. I guess I can put that on the same shelf as my Animated Omega Supreme and Animate Constructicons. (the shelf obviously doesn't exist)

I'm a playset-whore so I loved the Ark set and would pick up the 'Con one in a heartbeat, but if they lost money on the first outing, I can't blame them for not wanting to try again…

If it's a throne that'll seat Alternity Megatron I'd be game.

Part of the set appeal to me was that it was modular and I'd be able to adjust it as my collection got periodically rearranged. I have found a stable way to display it, but I hesitate to move it now and it's kind of irritating.
Conversely, I would love to buy the throne on it's own for about $20 or so.
Trailbreaker77
I would really like to pick this up but dropping $100 on this with all the United figures coming out. Well it just is not going to happen.

This set only had TWO Faults, maybe three.
Fault 1 this is the biggest but with such a small fix. The pieces didn't fit
well. I applied 1 drop of Krazy glue to each connection point and the playset
became solid enough to carry with one hand. AKA it is now one solid piece, and by gluing it, for some reason, it became super flat, straight edged and sexy, the way it was intended to be.
Fault 2 The stickers fell off. I'm sure getting better stickers won't increase price
of production at all.
Fault 3 I will mention this because it did bother people. You need instructions.
Seeing as the mould already exists I don't see why iGear won't put out the Decepticon set. Just inform people that some construction is required. Hell I don't even need the computer and the awesome Megatron thrown. Just give me purple walls so I can have a matching display for my Classic Decepticons.
iGear I beg you….PUT OUT THE DECEPTICON SET!!!
Thanx

The demand was low because the price when it first came out was too high and there are no directions for it and it is a pain to put together. These companies never look at there faults and blame it on lack of demand
fabexmax
Yeah. I posted this in another thread, they said that they don't have any plans to do the Cons playset. Said the demand was to low, and the cost to make them didn't warrant them to be made.
Hobbes-timus Prime
I say this as someone who owns the iGear Ark Playset: When it comes to the 'Cons I just ordered a bunch of Gundam Machine Chain Bases and saved myself the inevitable disappointment of purple walls that don't fit together right and stickers that fall off.
dark69
i would like to know that to
Wheeljack35
Well I got this for Christmas and made this video of it
YouTube – Teletraan 1 aka the IG -TF007 Computer Control Center
But I was wondering if anybody knew anything of what is going on with the Decepticon version of this
Blue Meanie
That……is awesome. Time to make a fiberglass and foam rock ceiling. I think that $10 t-rex in rock at TRU would make a great addition behind a wall.
kllrwlf
That's VERY Nice… and pretty big. Definite buy.
Transbot90210
If the price is as said…$50 a piece (300 for both sets) Then I am buying these sets without a secodn thought.
As mentioned before though, I can't see it being much more, it is just a bunch of detailed plastic slabs. Not to put this set down because it is F'n brilliant.
Thanx

Wow! That's fantastic!
Will get, if the price is good.
And if I do, my TFs can finally stop crashing on the Death Star and G.I.Joe's Transportable Tactical Battle Platform.
