The first name that came to mind when I saw this review was 'Broadside'. No, it's not an aircraft carrier, but pretty fricken big all the same. Just my 2c.
I thought this mold was referred to as "Springer" from previous posts of the legends class images and other miscellanious posts… well, maybe I missed it
I was quite impressed in seeing the scale of such a large Transformer that actually housed Optimus Prime– pretty neat gimmick, though I think Has/Tak could have got a little more creative with the little Prime's transformation. Aesthetically, I think the figure looks great displayed from the front at a distance the way Mike had it set up when he place the shuttle/weapon in its hand. The wings look really cool from this view. I like the lankyness of the arms (given the scale), they give the robot mode such a "leviathan-like" feel. I'm a huge fan of double jointed knees, and glad they became an attribute of the robot mode.
Aside from that, I can't quite get past the pontoon-feet…they look so bulbous and awkeward…it would have been nice to see possibly the toes or heel portions disengage slightly from the feet, and realign at a connection point somewhere on the mid-calf or mid-shin section, maybe creating a more streamlined feel to the robots legs…maybe I'll get one and kitbash it at some point.
Aside from the lower body, the kibble on the backside is quite unbalanced, and though gimmicky, still feels a little unfinished from the design end. No additional compacting or compression of the rear of the plane? Bummer.
Sorry to disagree with some fans, but this mold has so much promise and could really have been quite spectacular with a few more details and a little bit more creativity, rather than just pretty good and having gimmicks
…*ahem*
GenZhao and Peaugh are buddies, right? Surely Peaugh can teach him some good camera fu. Also, in the futures, please check facts before you spout off about what's what, and, as always, put in some experience with the toy before you post a review. Nothing's sillier than watching a reviewer try to figure out the toy while filming.
As you post that, you should realize that that plane looks nothing like a Boeing anything. He simply said Boeing because it's a common name, and he feels that having a toy before everyone else makes him smarter too.
Fit For natalie
What? This toy is a military transport plane, an amalgamation of several major transport planes including the C-17 Globemaster, C-5 Galaxy and perhaps Antonov An-225.
THIS, sir, is the answer. It looks like it takes the wings from the C-17, the gears from the C-5, and the tail from the An-255. The fuselage stumps me though, it really looks like it's just the artist's design on that.
TankRizzo
the fact it comes w/ the mini prime makes me inclined to believe it'll be in the movie.
I agree, that it'll be in the movie, probably carrying Prime and the Autobots somewhere. Whether it'll actually be a transformer, or if it'll be like Landmine and Incinerator, is anyone's guess at this point.
i really wish ppl would stop bitching about weather its a boeing or an antanov. it has similarities to both. maby its a new type of plane thats just in the movie, built specifically for prime.
Does anyone else think that the tail section is totally mis-transformed,I know a little bout airplanes and the tail just looks so hideous with a giant V,now shouldn't it be level with the wings.Oh and slight critique but if your gonna do a review make sure the product actually looks like it is suppose t ther then that good review.
I really like the alt mode plus the OP gimmick. But the bot mode doesn't do it for me. gotta say though that that super dark version of blackout looks awesome. too bad it's so hard to see the detail on his vid. I really wanted to see how cool blackout looks.
It's based on a C-5 Galaxy with a modified tail section. It isn't a Antonov An-225, because the An-225 has six turbines and the toy has four. It could be that Hasbro couldn't get a liscence to make an actual model of either of them, so Hasbro made their own design using some details from both planes.
It's first and foremost a modified An-225. Aside from number of engines and the second cockpit window set, every aspect of the design is something from the An-225.
um. DUH. knowing Bay this is probably Omega Supreme. The colors and scale aren't too far off for it, and the shuttle is a dead giveaway IMO. I still think it's kind of fugly, at least proportion-wise. I mean, they could have easily tried a bit harder with those ginormous foot skis.
Meh. Another shining example of the de-evolution of Transformers toy quality brought to us by ROTF. If it isn't chicken legs, it's roller feet. If it isn't roller feet, it's microwaved head sculpts. If it isn't microwaved head sculpts, it's lacking paint apps of any sort. How is this line the next "step up" from Universe and Animated???
Well, Cybertron Wing Saber, the tank combaticon from Energon and countless others going back to G1 Whirl have had flat ski-like feet. Why is it unusual now?

Or they could decide to stop bothering doing reviews and leave fans completely in the dark about upcoming figures until the day they're released.
Angelwave
True……so Wing Saber could also be this guys name too. But at this point it really doesn't matter…….

Ugly bot, terrible feet, cool alt mode, nice gimmicks (boring review, btw, sorry)
Nice size, too. I'll get him, as with the other non-repaint movie voyagers.
I really dont' want him to be Omega Supreme. Wouldn't mind if he's Sky Lynx.

…I do hope peaugh does his own video on this thing. it's all well and good mike wants to do this stuff, but he's no peaugh.

Isn't ROTF Silverbolt going to be an energon repaint? among other energon repaints to form a repaint of Superion Maximus?

Who said it was a step up? It's just another toy line.

its superion!
this character would look badass if he was in the movie. but fails as a toy.
