Courtesy of the Cybergundam blog, we have some scans from the March edition of Dengeki Hobby magazine’s Transformers content. Masterpiece Grimlock slated for a March release takes centre stage, with his full “waiter mode” shown – including apron and bow tie, as seen in the classic episode “Madman’s Paradise”. There is also some revised lineart for Alternity Megatron, images of the box art for Alternity Convoy and Disney Label Mickey Mouse, and a feature on the various functions and features of the Chrono Label watches. This is all topped off with a brief look at the Encore cassette set 1 featuring Eject, Rewind, Ravage and Laserbeak.

I think an MP wheelie with slingshot would have made a nice accessory. This is simply too expensive. I'll be laughing my tail off when the hasbro version comes out. Paying this much for an all plastic figure can only lead to dissapointment. It really should cost no more that $75.00 IMO

Lol, can't wait for MP Grimlock to come out. I mean, i won't but it but my dad will get it and display it for me to see. XD Anyways, i hope they come out with an encore Blaster. It would go great with the encore cassettes.
Master Sing
I like the Dino mode of the G-1 Grimlock better, and the robot mode of the Masterpiece much better… would love it if both were offered in a package deal!
Master Sing
No, you're not… I am very interested as well!
G3500
I agree…like WTF, pay $140 and get a small figure. Just takara's way of cost savings and milking more $$$ out of the fans. If they were to build him to scale he'd be around the size of a 1:60 MG gundam and those cost less or around the same price..so yah definitely overpriced..

I'm sad now. =( but Megs still looks cool

I can put up with anything that came along with MP Grimmy, even though some of these are totally redundant but I can still make do with it.
What I can't agree on is the fact that the Makers had decided to downgrade Grimmy to Starscream's scale!
That is the LAST STRAW!
Rodr-Evil
Grimlock is awesome!
rizuan76
yeah man I'm loving those silly accessories with Grimlock. just two more months to go.
LightningZERO
It looks like flip out blade instead of blaster…

grimlock looks so awesome. i dont think i can wait for his inevitable hasbro release. how am i going to explain to my wife that buying him is a neccesity.
Type-R
Unfortunately, that drawing is of the fold out bucket seat arm blaster, like the ones on GT-R Convoy. Fairlady Z Megs has them too due to the similar transformation scheme.

The cannon idea looks like it was scrapped for megs. You don't see it on the test shot… but I'm wondering that the piece on the right hand side of the line art is? The one that's in its own box. I have a hunch that could be a piece that turns into the cannon, I guess we'll see. And I hope I'm right.
BigRC83
My thought exactly. Maybe we will get both….. . Well anyway, as much I love MP Grimlock, I will probably never use that that stupid apron and the rest of that waiter stuff. I hate to amid it, but I am really starting to love the Mickey Mouse.
Dolza_Khyron
am i the only one who is more interested in the fact that there is a G1 grimlock on that, then the new mp grimlock pictures?
Railguard
This stuff looks cool except for the mouse mobile.
Devastattor
My thoughts exactly. I still have my original toy and it's a far cry from the cartoon/movie Grimlock.
razorchrist
Save for actual articulation, proper proportions, the ability to pose it in more ways than just with the arms up or down, the options to have the eyes in both modes look G1 cartoon or toy accurate depending what you prefer, and a sword & gun that apparently store somewhere in alt mode, then yeah, they're basically identical.

What's the point of Alternity? How many toys will this new line last? Takaratomy really needs to focus instead of churning out random stuff with zero staying power.
Hound & Mirage
Hasbro initially pushed for a Grimlock masterpiece because they thought it was one that could sell really well in the US. But Takara went all out and the retail price is probably a lot higher than Hasbro had planned. (Materials cost has also gone up and there's been a lot of inflation in the high-end collectibles market besides.) Hasbro could sell it cheaper by selling it closer to cost, but that means less profit incentive and it might still be too expensive to sell in western markets until a few years have passed and the economy has improved. I'm sure Hasbro will sell it eventually, but I'm not gonna be one who holds his breath waiting for it.
Alternately, it might be something that Hasbro could/should just put up on Hasbroshop and sell directly on a per-order basis. Maybe? I dunno.
