Unicron.com has posted several pieces of official Cartoon Network control art pieces depicting Perceptor from Transformers: Animated. Perceptor, who will first appear in Season 3 of the series, will have a pick-up truck alternate mode that also converts to a mobile laboratory complete with microscope! The images also reveal that Perceptor is in Episode 30 of the series, which is the first episode of the new season. No date has been released yet by Cartoon Network for the premiere of Season 3 of Transformers Animated.

Good spot, there! I was just about to point out that blog reply myself, but I never noticed it was actually a reply to swarlock in the first place…
shroobmaster
No he isn't.
Derrick Wyatt confirmed that he isn't in his blog… and… to you apparently!

That rules. I hope Perceptor and Wheeljack are married.

Too late. George Takei is going to be Perceptor in Animated.

Perceptor: Because Sentinal Prime's weapon storage was SOOOO good.

Now that's a brilliant design, Strika and Blackout were both nice and dead killy but this one shows real imagination and thought put into it to make it work.
Speaking of working, his arm shields are the doors, he has two road wheels where his knees are and the windscreen seems likely to be the back pack going by the latters shape. Probably making his legs the front of the car. Which means for this it work at all as a toy it has to split in half so I'm hoping for a nice Voyager with the back part turning into a workstation for him as that would totally suit him.
Hopefully the transforming accessory aspect would prevent his toy from being neutered like Sentinel Prime's was.

…What? His design is more G1 than alot of characters!
microclone
awesome.
the idea of a science lab from the car is very clever, makes way more sense than the original tank/microscope (that made sense in the microman line where peceptor originated of course).
mirarage
Pure awesome!
Definitely need a toy of this one.
Especially since he appears to have a earth mode already.
Bring it on!

I hope he's just like energon ratchet where he comes out of the shell and there's Perceptor and a lab station!

Preceptor actually looks great….i reallly like the microscope mode…. it's alot like the g1 ironhide/ratchet battle station

I like that though. I think of it as showing an incredible range in alt modes. Not everything on Cybertron had to be a tank or a fighter jet. It was a planet. Just like on Earth not everyone is in the army or air force.
Some Transformers were probably boring with their alt modes. But it was how they used their alt modes that mattered.

I always use the Reflector team as the most extreme example of this..I transform into a fighter jet what about you? Me oh I have a battle tank alt mode, hey what about you mate what do you transform into? Oh I combine with my two buddies to form a camera…..

Love this vehicle mode. Such a tight design! Getting a real Syd Mead vibe! Love all the angles in there…
This is some of the most amazing 2D TV animation design ever done. Kudos to Derek and the design team!

It was never said that Beachcomber was cut for time, it was that his lines had been cut for time and even this wasnt put forth as being a definate it was a ase of "I believe" that his lines had been cut for time.
Anyways the Alt modes are good based of the pics in the comic I was alittle worried that he had an actual Microscope G1 style as his alt mode and I personelly like how in Animated they have steared away from the accessory bots.

Glad they put Perceptor in, but i'm not liking his look as much. He doesn't seem to get the G1 spark like the rest……

I would follow Animated Rube Goldberg through the gates of hell.
